Kai Hotel Bar Overview

I’d say the Kai Hotel Bar is one of those hidden gems that you stumble upon when you’re strolling down Tsereteli Street in the heart of the city – or if you’re more into the Didube vibe, it’s right on the corner of Tsereteli str.118, a spot where the old Soviet architecture meets the new Georgian buzz. Honestly, the first thing that hits you is the scent of fresh coffee brewing from the tiny café on the ground floor, the hum of conversations in Georgian and English, and the faint crackle of a radio playing traditional lullabies. I mean, you can’t miss it – the bar has a subtle glow that invites you to sit and watch the world go by from the window.

Parking is a lifesaver – a small, paid garage right behind the hotel that’s usually free of hassle, even during the peak tourist season. If you’re driving, there’s also street parking, but be mindful of the meter times; they’re strict at 6pm and 8pm. Check‑in is pretty smooth; the front desk staff greet you with a warm smile, and they’ll hook you up with a quick, digital check‑in system that saves you a few minutes of waiting in line. On a busy July morning, you’ll notice a line of people with backpacks, but the staff keep the flow steady, and they’re quick to offer a complimentary map of Didube’s best spots – like that hidden tea shop a block away that serves the best chamomile tea in town. The lobby’s décor is a playful mix of modern art and traditional Georgian motifs, while the air-conditioned rooms feel surprisingly airy, especially when you pull the curtains to let in the morning light. Sound-wise, the street is lively, with the occasional laugh or shout from a nearby market, but the hotel has good insulation, so you’ll actually hear the faint music from the bar only when you’re in the room.

The bar at the back of the hotel is where the real charm lives – it’s a cozy, dimly lit space with a menu that blends local flavors with a modern twist. They serve a signature cocktail called the “Red Wine Fizz,” which is a delightful mix of Georgian red wine, soda, and a splash of citrus. The bartender, a friendly local named Lasha, loves to share stories about the era when Tbilisi was a cultural crossroads, and honestly, you feel like you’re part of a conversation rather than just a guest. The noise level inside is manageable; you can chat at a moderate volume, and the venue is often a bit quieter after 10pm, allowing for a relaxed evening. If you’re a night owl, the bar stays open until 2am, so you can enjoy a late‑night drink without the rush. The surrounding area is surprisingly peaceful after 8pm – the traffic slows down, and the streetlights create an almost cinematic glow that makes the whole block feel like a postcard.

Overall, staying at the Kai Hotel Bar feels like a blend of comfort and adventure. The location is unbeatable for walking to local markets, the historical Old Town, and even the river promenade, all within a 15‑minute stroll. The hotel’s staff are genuinely helpful – they’ll recommend where to grab a quick bite or how to catch a local bus to the botanical gardens. The rooms are modern, with all the tech you need, but they also have a touch of Georgian flair – think hand‑woven throw blankets, a small wooden figurine on the nightstand, and a subtle scent of sandalwood that lingers in the air. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a second home rather than a corporate hotel, this is it. The Kai Hotel Bar strikes the right balance between local authenticity and modern convenience, making it a standout choice for anyone exploring the city.

  • Very Good – Jale from Turkey – October 11, 2023 (8/10)

The hotel is a little far from the city center, but there is a metro station nearby. There are a lot of supermarkets and fast food cafes around the hotel.

  • Good – Francesca from Italy – June 29, 2025 (7/10)

The hotel is cute with a lot of plants of all the kind around and a nice terrance.
    The dorm was very cheap.

What could be improved: The reception is open at 12 pm loll, very late. There is a bar, but you can use it because the door is locked.
I was in the dorm, and it was okay they don't clean very often. The location is inside a convention center, and if they have a exhibition the lock the back door, which is next to the hotel, and you have to walk all way through to get out on the street. Unfortunately I had this experience.

  • Good – Tzvi from Israel – August 7, 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: The bed wasn't so comfortable, but aside from that everything was decent
