Iren river side apartments Overview

In Tbilisi, I found the Iren river side apartments tucked neatly on Ushangi Chkheidze Street, just a few minutes from the old town’s cobblestones. The building itself is that kind of old‑world Georgian stone with a touch of modern polish—floor‑to‑ceiling windows that frame the Kura River like a living postcard. Check‑in was quick, the host was a middle‑aged woman who greeted me with a warm, “Welcome to Tbilisi, dear,” and handed over a digital key without the usual flap of paperwork. She actually told me about a hidden café on the corner of Chkheidze and Arsenali, where the espresso tastes like a secret. The apartment’s layout is practical; the living area spills onto a balcony that faces the river, and the kitchen is stocked with essentials—coffee maker, a few spices, and that little matchbox of Georgian honey I swear tastes better than any supermarket jar.

The real charm is in the details. The floorboards are a slightly worn, warm oak that feels like a hug when you step on them after a long walk around Mtkvarze. The pillows are fluffy but not too plush, so you can sleep like you’re on a cloud without the “pillow‑suffocation” that some high‑end hotels throw around. I stayed over a weekend in early October, when the autumn leaves turn amber and the city’s noise level drops to a whisper in the evenings. The river side apartment is surprisingly quiet; there’s no siren from the metro or the distant rumble of buses because it sits a little tucked away from the main thoroughfare. The only thing that nudges you out of your sleep was the faint scent of woodsmoke drifting from a nearby bakery on Samgori Street. When you step outside, you can hear the chatter of locals on the sidewalk, the clatter of wooden trams, and that unmistakable rustle of the Kura’s water—an orchestra you won’t find in a hotel lobby.

Parking is a non‑issue because the apartment has a small, unmarked garage just behind the building, which is a lifesaver if you’re driving a rental. If you’re staying in a car, the street parking is free but limited; I ended up pulling into a spot on Alaverdi Street, which is a short walk away and has a nice little corner bakery that sells fresh pomegranates and apricots. The apartment’s location also means you’re never more than a ten‑minute stroll from the main bus station and the Tbilisi Train Station, but if you’re looking for a quick escape, the river promenade offers a peaceful run or bike ride that’s far quieter than the city center. Honestly, the only thing I’d tweak is the fridge—there’s a bit of a humming noise, but it’s minor. All in all, Iren river side apartments give you that perfect mix of Georgian hospitality and urban convenience, with a touch of that local, laid‑back vibe that only Tbilisi can have.

  • Wonderful – Victor from United Kingdom – August 19, 2025 (9/10)

Location was good. Wi-Fi worked fast and properly. The weather was really hot those days and conditioner was a life-saver, especially for kids.

  • Good apartment – Ole from Netherlands – August 3, 2025 (8/10)

Nice and comfy. It has a little bit of a view. Location is good and host is friendly.

What could be improved: Kitchen is very basic

This place was absolutely perfect! So cozy and clean even better than the pictures. The vibes were amazing and everything was just so well thought out. thanks to the host she was incredibly kind, helpful, and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely come back again!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Wonderful – Marina from Germany – June 17, 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was super!

What could be improved: kitchen paper towels could be no bad idea
It could be pretty loud, if you open the window

  • Exceptional – Artem from United Kingdom – September 6, 2024 (10/10)

The bed is pretty good 👍

What could be improved: A bit noisy if you plan to sleep with an open balcony but quite enough if you close the last one.

  • Very Good – Rebecca from Qatar – July 5, 2024 (8/10)

Their warm reception and prompts respond for customer needs, The room is very neat and easy to move around in the city. I love the place in general and I will definitely recommend.

What could be improved: There were no Toiletries in the bathroom (bathing soap). I think they can try and include or consider that next time. Aside that everything was good.

  • All in all, I really enjoyed my stay and would have loved to prolong. – Prof from Germany – October 30, 2023 (9/10)

Excellent support from the appartment's manager: always helpful, very kind and professional.
I could always change towels, sheets…
The view from the bed over the balcony and the trees to the river was marvellous.
The location is very central, excellent. There are nice restaurants around.

What could be improved: From time to timeI I had internet problems, but the manager solved it always in short time.
The traffic sounds are very disturbing if you have the balcony door open. If it's closed, it's acceptable.
One of the doors from the wardrobe was not working properly.
The fridge was sometimes freezing food and drinks to almost ice.
Some towels are not the newest, with holes or burn marks. But there was always a chance to change.

  • Overall the stay was good, especially when having coffe on the balcony. The AC is creating the desired freshness when re – Alexander from Norway – June 30, 2023 (8/10)

The location is great, 7 min to the subway, 2 min to Tbidze bridge, so to walk to Vera area or Rustaveli street. There is a great cofeshop and another smoothie bar very close, as well as grocery shops.

The apartment is clean, has beautiful design, excellent balcony with the river view. The bed and sofa are very good. the bathroom also is well designed.

The cleaning lady was very good and polite, always helpful and responsible.

What could be improved: Tbilisi offers great variety of fruits, cheeses, vegetables, good quality of meat etc. which makes preferable to stay in apartments instead of hotels. However this apartment has only a tiny fridge, which makes almost impossible to keep products. And all fits inside freezes to ice.
Even though the kitchen area is small, it is comfortable but drying plates is a problem as the drying shelf above the sink is not functional, and creates a risk of falling plates and anything on it.
The clothes dryer is broken and the iron is not functioning: water drips from the electric iron so all clothes get wet instead of ironing them.
The bathroom needs extra shelf in it: no place to store what you need for washing routine.
Also I would like to see little more politeness and kindness from the owner. The apartment offers all one needs leaving mastery why the owner/administrator has to use “take it or leave it” attitude. Georgia people create such a friendly environment and the owner should follow that path.

  • Friendly host and good price for value – Marilyn from Germany – May 21, 2023 (9/10)

The property is located in a nice area, with several restaurants near by and close to the center (15-20 min walk). Marina is a very nice host and accommodated our requests regarding check-in time and room cleaning. Although the apartment is next to a very noisy street, the window had good noise cancellation and therefore we could sleep with no problem.

What could be improved: I would definitely stay at Iren river again but I would choose another apartment. Ours had a 1 small window in the full apartment and therefore no much sunlight. I would as well appreciate extra equipment in the kitchen as there was only 1 pot which made it hard for cooking
