Hotel Voyager Overview

I just got back from a weekend stay at the Hotel Voyager in Tbilisi, and wow, it’s a place you didn’t expect to find a gem amid the city’s hustle. The hotel sits right on Dusheti Street, just a block from the buzzing Rustaveli Avenue, so you’re literally in the middle of the action. The lobby feels like a cozy café more than a typical hotel, with a wooden bar that’s a nod to Georgian craftsmanship. I remember the check‑in was surprisingly swift—front desk staff greeted me with a smile, said “Welcome to the city!” and had me in my room in about fifteen minutes, no long queue or paperwork nightmare. The little café on the ground floor, run by a local family, served the best khachapuri I’ve ever tasted, and the scent of fresh basil and melted cheese wafted through the hall.

Rooms are solid, with a mix of modern décor and traditional Georgian elements. The bed is a beast of a mattress, and the pillows have that right amount of fluff; I swear I slept through the traffic outside. The noise level is decent—there’s a faint hum of city life, but the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing the subway rattling. For travelers who value privacy, the rooms are a good pick. I did notice the Wi‑Fi can be glitchy, especially during peak hours, so if you’re working from your phone, you might want to keep an eye on the signal. Though, the in‑room coffee maker is top‑notch—plenty of local beans to brew a strong pot, and the aroma is a real mood‑setter. Parking is free, but the lot is a bit of a maze; I got lost for a few minutes with my keys in hand, but it’s right outside the hotel, so it’s not a big deal if you’re just dropping off a car.

The location is a win, honestly. You’re just a 10‑minute stroll to Freedom Square, and from there it’s a quick walk up to the Old Town, where the cobblestones feel ancient under your boots. During spring, the street cafés pour out all the fresh peach and apricot juices—an absolute must-try. In summer, it can get hot, but the hotel’s balcony gave me a little shade to sip iced tea and watch the city’s skyline. The staff know the area well; they recommended a hidden gem, a tiny bakery on Shevardnadze Street that serves the best chocolate pastries. If you’re looking to explore, I’d suggest heading out to Mtatsminda Park for sunset; the view of the TV tower is spectacular. One small critique: the minibar is a bit pricey for the items offered, but it’s a minor annoyance in an otherwise solid stay. All in all, Hotel Voyager feels like a local’s favorite spot turned into a comfortable base for travelers—a sweet spot between modern convenience and traditional charm.

Exploring Tbilisi offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Georgia’s cultural heart, from its ancient sulfur baths to its world-renowned wine traditions and stunning Caucasus mountain backdrop.
