Hotel MTbilisi Overview

I first heard about Hotel MTbilisi from a friend who swears by the old‑town vibe of Tbilisi, and honestly, the footage she sent was already a promise of a good stay. I landed in the city in the early afternoon, the air smelling faintly of roasted chestnuts from a street vendor on Viktor Jorbenadze Street. The hotel itself is tucked into a quiet corner of that street, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Freedom Square and not far from the old churches lining Rustaveli Avenue. Parking is a bit of a hunt – there’s a small paid underground lot behind the building, but if you’re okay with a short walk, you can also lock up in the open lot next to the Minarets Market. I found the parking fee reasonable, but I did have to ask the concierge for a slot during the peak of the tourist season – they were helpful, though the wait was a tad longer than I’d liked.

Check‑in was smooth, but something about the front desk staff’s energy made me feel like I was home. They were quick, but their smile was genuine, and they even offered to bring my luggage up to the room. The room itself is a cozy blend of modern luxe and Georgian charm – think plush king bed, a bathroom with a deep soaking tub, and a view that stretches out to the cobbled streets below. I was surprised to find a small balcony, which was perfect for sipping a cappuccino while listening to the distant bells of the Sioni Cathedral. The Wi‑Fi was solid most of the time, but I did notice a lag when I tried to stream a documentary about the Caucasus. Still, the speed was plenty for checking emails and scrolling through Instagram.

Breakfast was a highlight – a spread of local pastries, fresh fruit, and a generous selection of cheeses that reminded me of the markets in Tbilisi’s old bazaar. The staff even offered a sample of the café’s signature latte, which had just the right balance of espresso and steamed milk. The noise level in the hotel was surprisingly low; the building’s soundproofing really works. Though, if you’re a light sleeper, you might catch the occasional traffic hum from the main road. The only real critique I have is that the room’s closet could use more hooks for your hiking gear – I brought a pair of boots and had to store them in the room’s small dresser. Overall, though, the experience was genuinely warm and lived‑in, the kind of place that feels like a friend’s apartment rather than a corporate hotel. I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone looking to explore Tbilisi’s historic heart while still having a comfortable, stylish base to return to.

To book hotel in Tbilisi during the famous Tbilisi Jazz Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.
