Hotel Mogzauri Overview

I remember the first time I ran into Hotel Mogzauri, it was a rainy Tuesday in Tbilisi. The building itself blends those classic Georgian brick facades with a modern, almost minimalist, lobby that feels like a quiet corner office rather than a hotel entrance. The front desk staff – a young woman named Leila – greeted me with that friendly, “Good afternoon, how can I help?” vibe that makes you feel like a friend dropping by rather than a tourist being checked in. She was quick, but she did the whole thing with a personal touch, pointing out the best times to visit the nearby Old Town and how the metro just a block away will get you to the statue of Lenin without fuss. The check‑in was painless, no long lines, and she tossed me the key card with a smile that made me feel like the place was already mine.

Walking out onto Avtandil Street, you can hear the city’s pulse – the clatter of scooters, the distant rumble of traffic, and the occasional shout of a street vendor hawking khinkali. The street itself is a mix of old Soviet blocky buildings and modern cafés, and the corner where Hotel Mogzauri sits has a small, almost hidden, fountain that’s a nice little oasis. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt; there’s a small underground lot two blocks away, but you’ll need a parking permit. It’s not a huge hassle, just be ready to walk a few minutes and you’ll snag a spot. The noise level in the hotel itself is surprisingly low; the rooms are soundproofed well, so you can actually hear the wind in the trees outside the windows instead of the city’s constant hum.

The rooms are a blend of comfort and style. I stayed in a two‑bedroom suite that had a balcony overlooking the street, which was great for watching the sunset over the city’s skyline – the sun dipping behind the Mtatsminda Park hills. The bed was plush, and the linens had that subtle, almost buttery feel that you only get after a couple of trips. The bathroom is spacious, with a rain shower that makes you feel like you’re on a tiny luxury spa, and the complimentary toiletries were decent. I did notice that the mini‑fridge didn’t have a door handle, so I had to squeeze in a few extra minutes to open it – a minor annoyance but nothing that spoils the stay.

Dining at the hotel’s little café was another highlight. They serve a breakfast spread that’s a mix of Georgian staples and international favorites; I had a plate of khachapuri with a side of fresh fruit. The coffee was decent, but I’d say the real draw was the view from the little balcony that the café had. I could see the city’s old stone walls and the modern glass towers that have sprung up like a city’s own skyline. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy a late‑night drink, the rooftop bar is a hidden gem – just be aware that the bar’s open until 2 a.m., so if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to head back to your room earlier.

Honestly, the best part of my stay was the little touches that made the hotel feel like a home away from home. The staff remembered my name after a few days, and at one point Leila brought me a small plate of fresh jam, which was a sweet, unexpected gesture. The hotel is also close to a few local markets where you can try fresh produce and pick up a bottle of wine to bring back home. In all, Hotel Mogzauri is a solid choice if you want a comfortable, well‑located place without the touristy hype. The blend of modern amenities, thoughtful service, and genuine Georgian hospitality makes it a spot you’ll want to return to every time you’re in the city.

To book hotel in Tbilisi during the famous Tbilisi Jazz Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

I had an amazing stay at Mogzauri Tbilisi! The room was exceptionally clean and spacious, making it super comfortable. The staff, especially Dito and Nino, were incredibly friendly and helpful – they truly made us feel like part of the family. We travelled with our one-year-old, and they went above and beyond by providing a cot and even baby food, which made our stay so much easier and more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, the service was great, and the overall hospitality was outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Georgia. Definitely a top choice for a memorable and enjoyable stay!!

  • Loved Our Stay at Mogzauri Tbilisi! – Heshan from Sri Lanka – April 17, 2025 (10/10)

We had an amazing time at Mogzauri Tbilisi! The room was super clean and spacious. Big shoutout to Dito and Nino—they were so friendly and helpful, really made us feel like family. Breakfast was delicious, and the service overall was great.

  • Exceptional – Anna from Armenia – April 12, 2025 (10/10)

Everything is really great – service, rooms, breakfast. The staff is very helpful and welcoming

What could be improved: The only exception is the location. I recommend the hotel to those who don't need to rush to the city center regularly and arrive there at the exact time: traffic jams are regularly heavy, and there's only one highway connecting the downtown and the neighborhood where the hotel is located.
