Hotel Metekhi Line Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Metekhi Line? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it sits right in the historic Metekhi district, and honestly, the location feels like you’ve stumbled into one of those postcards that doesn’t quite capture how atmospheric Tbilisi really is. I mean, you’re practically on top of the old town, with those winding cobblestone streets that’ll have you questioning your shoe choices, but in the best possible way. The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s polished without being stuffy, and that 8.7 guest rating? Yeah, I get it now.
What really struck me was how the staff seemed to actually know the city, not just the tourist highlights everyone rattles off. They pointed me toward this tiny wine bar tucked away in an alley I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was interested in Soviet-era architecture (weird hobby, I know), the front desk guy sketched out a little walking route on hotel stationary. The rooms themselves have this clean, modern vibe – nothing groundbreaking, but the beds are actually comfortable, and the windows open properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. The neighborhood can get a bit lively in the evenings, especially on weekends, but it’s more charming street music and conversation than obnoxious party noise.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of town – you’re walking distance from the sulfur baths (and trust me, your travel-weary body will thank you), and the Narikala Fortress is right there if you don’t mind a bit of uphill hiking. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car much. The breakfast was better than expected – they do this Georgian cheese bread thing that’s… well, let’s just say I went back for seconds. And thirds. The whole experience felt authentic without trying too hard, if that makes sense. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to hang around the lobby with a coffee instead of just rushing through to your room.
Exploring Tbilisi offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Georgia’s cultural heart, from its ancient sulfur baths to its world-renowned wine traditions and stunning Caucasus mountain backdrop.

This hotel employs real masters of their craft. Elvira, Anton and a helpful Georgian guy (unfortunately I forgot his name) made sure that my stay in the beautiful city of Tbilisi was at the proper level.
Before checking in, I asked that the room be at a comfortable temperature and be warm. They fulfilled my request without further reminders. Many thanks to them for this.
