Hotel Gremi Tbilisi Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Gremi Tbilisi, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star property. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels authentically Georgian rather than trying too hard to impress international guests. I mean, when a hotel manages to score a 9.8 rating, you know they’re doing something right — and honestly, it shows from the moment you step through the doors.
Location & Neighborhood
The Isani district might not be the first area tourists think of, but that’s actually what makes this spot so brilliant. You’re tucked away on Shorapani Street, which gives you this authentic Tbilisi neighborhood feel without the tourist crowds. What surprised me most was how couples absolutely rave about the location — they’ve given it a perfect 10.0 rating, and I get why. You’ve got easy access to the city center, but you’re staying somewhere that feels like real Georgia, not just another hotel zone.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and local character. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to details that actually matter — proper blackout curtains, reliable WiFi, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel like you’re camping. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the courtyard-facing rooms have this quiet charm that lets you actually get some rest after exploring the city all day. Each space is thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort during your stay.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast here is honestly better than what you’ll find at many five-star places I’ve stayed at. They’ve got this great mix of Georgian specialties alongside international options, so you can try khachapuri if you’re feeling adventurous or stick with familiar favorites if jet lag has you playing it safe. The restaurant area has these large windows that flood the space with morning light — it’s actually a really pleasant way to start your day before heading out to explore. The culinary offerings reflect both local traditions and contemporary tastes.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Hotel Gremi Tbilisi — it’s earned that 9.9 location rating because the staff genuinely knows their neighborhood and city. They’ll point you toward the best local spots, help you navigate Tbilisi’s quirky public transport, and somehow always seem to know exactly what you need before you ask. The combination of being slightly off the beaten path but still incredibly well-connected, plus service that feels personal rather than scripted, creates this experience that’s hard to replicate. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special, not just booking a room for the night. The attention to guest satisfaction sets this property apart from standard accommodations.

We were transiting through Tbilisi with a 10-hour layover. We booked this hotel because it has great reviews and it's less than a 15 minute drive from the airport. We took Yandex from the airport for less than $10. We arrived late at the hotel, past 1:00am, and the owner was sleeping. We called the number, he answered, and he buzzed us in. On the front desk was a paper with our names on it and a key. We made our way to our room and the owner popped out and checked that we were okay. Slept very well with the open window. Quiet neighborhood. Breakfast was included and it had everything we needed to recharge before heading back to the airport with another Yandex which was less than $10 and less than 15 minutes. Excellent overall and recommended, especially for the price of the room which was about $45.

Many thanks to Edward – the owner – for his hopsitality and his willigness to always help his guests!
PS: if you plan on getting a tour, make sure to check in with Edward first.
There are a few companies in the city that can trick you and charge you double for tours.
Edward offers reliable service through his partners for an even better price.Ahmed from United Arab Emirates (10/10)
