Check-in was smooth (honestly, I was prepared for the usual hotel shuffle), and they remembered my name throughout my stay without making it feel scripted. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in elegance that’s hard to describe – think quality linens and thoughtful lighting rather than generic hotel furniture that looks impressive in photos but feels cold in person. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with decent water pressure and those thick towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the attention to those details most hotels overlook. The hallways are actually quiet – you’re not hearing every conversation from neighboring rooms or dealing with slamming doors at all hours. The Wi-Fi works consistently (I know, revolutionary concept), and there are enough outlets positioned where you actually need them. Parking isn’t a nightmare, which anyone who’s stayed at city hotels knows is basically a minor miracle. I also appreciated that the housekeeping staff has clearly been trained well – they’re thorough without being intrusive, and they don’t rearrange all your stuff in some bizarre attempt to be helpful. The hotel attracts a mix of business travelers and couples, so it never feels too stuffy or too party-heavy, just that sweet spot of professional but relaxed. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on comfort without the pretense, Hotel Diamond gets it right in ways that matter more than fancy marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants you’ll never actually eat at.

  Very quiet area, not far from the center, 15-20 minutes walk. Clean room, everything you need. What you need for a couple of days! Modest, but quite tasty breakfast, which is very good for this price. Very hospitable and friendly hotel staff! 🙂
