Hotel City Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel City on Abesadze Street, you immediately get why this place has such a stellar location rating. I mean, you’re literally in the thick of everything that makes Tbilisi special — the old town’s winding cobblestone streets are right at your doorstep, and you can actually hear the gentle hum of the city without feeling overwhelmed by it. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the neighborhood’s mix of traditional Georgian architecture and modern touches.

The Heart of Old Tbilisi

What really struck me about staying here is how effortlessly you can explore the city on foot. The sulfur baths district is maybe a five-minute walk away, and honestly, there’s something magical about being able to wander back to your hotel after soaking in those famous hot springs. The Narikala Fortress looms above you — you can see it from some of the hotel windows — and the cable car station is close enough that you don’t need to plan your whole day around getting there. Plus, you’re surrounded by some of Tbilisi’s best wine bars and traditional Georgian restaurants, which locals actually frequent.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a solid four-star property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed without being flashy. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the air conditioning actually works well, which you’ll appreciate during Tbilisi’s warm summers. What I loved most was the attention to detail — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you need them, and a bathroom that feels spacious even in the standard rooms.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is where Hotel City really shines, and I’m not just saying that because I’m always hungry in the morning. They do both continental and buffet options, but the buffet is where it’s at — you’ll find a nice mix of Georgian specialties alongside international favorites. The khachapuri alone is worth getting up for, and they make a proper Georgian coffee that’ll actually wake you up. The dining area gets good natural light, so you can plan your day while watching Tbilisi come to life outside.

Why Guests Love It

Look, couples absolutely rave about this place for good reason — that 9.6 location score isn’t just a number. You can walk to dinner, stumble back after wine tasting, and wake up in the morning ready to explore without needing taxis or complicated transportation. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward hidden gems that aren’t in every guidebook. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying in the real Tbilisi, not some tourist bubble. The hotel strikes that perfect balance between being comfortable and professional while still feeling connected to the vibrant, slightly chaotic energy that makes Georgia’s capital so addictive.

Reviews of Hotel City

  • Mohamed from United Arab Emirates (9/10)

when we arrived in Tbilisi, we were staying at another hotel, that first hotel room was super small and gave us a very bad first impression of Tbilisi because we were also staying in the old city which was not the best idea for the first time in Georgia, we thought about cutting short our stay even if it meant to lose the paid amount for the rest of the nights, this is when City Hotel came to the plan, it was a mood lifter, the Room is spacious, the design is amazing, we were lucky having the room with the big terrace which was amazing, breakfast was amazing, the location was in midtown 3 minutes walk from Freedom Square, everything was near, we visited most of Tbilisi by walking from the hotel and barely used any taxis.
There are many options in Tbilisi, so I would honestly spare you the time looking and highly recommend this one.
Bonus tip for Arabs: there are a ton of Halal restaurants 1 minute's walk from the hotel and also there is Bidet Sprayer in the toilet XD
