Host Net Iverieli Overview
When I landed in Tbilisi, I was already dreaming of the city’s quirky mix of ancient and modern, and Host Net Iverieli promised to deliver on that promise. The hotel sits on 32 Vazha Ivereli Street, tucked between a bakery that smells like fresh khachapuri and a tiny tea shop where the owner insists you can taste the earth through the tea leaves. Check‑in was surprisingly breezy – the front desk was run by a young woman who chatted in Georgian and English, and she handed me a keycard with a small, handwritten note that read, “Enjoy your stay, and if you need anything, just shout.” I almost forgot my luggage because I was too busy scanning the wall‑clock that, oddly, still reads the Georgian time zone. The lobby was a blend of mid‑century furniture and local art, and the scent of fresh coffee lingered in the air, a reminder that this place is still very much a living, breathing part of the city.
My room was a sweet surprise. It’s a single apartment with a balcony that overlooked a quiet courtyard, the kind of view that makes you think you’re in a postcard. The bed was a king‑size with linens that felt like a hug, and the tiny kitchenette had a full set of pots and a kettle that never seemed to boil properly – a gentle reminder that the locals keep things a bit rustic. The bathroom was a clean, minimalist space with a rainfall shower that felt like a small oasis after a long day of walking. I spent a lot of time on the balcony, sipping tea from a chipped mug and listening to the distant clang of the metro and the chatter of nearby street vendors. The noise level was surprisingly low, given the hotel’s proximity to Rustaveli Avenue; maybe the building’s architecture does a good job of blocking out the city’s hustle.
Parking was a bit of a scavenger hunt – there’s no dedicated hotel lot, so you usually end up in a small, free street parking spot a block away. It’s a bit of a walk, but the cobblestones give you a sense of stepping back in time. On the flip side, the city’s public transport is a lifesaver; the metro is quick, and you can hop off at Freedom Square to explore the old town. I’m a little disappointed that the hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle to the airport, but I did appreciate the easy access to a taxi stand right outside the building. The staff were friendly, and most of them spoke English, which made the whole experience comfortable. One minor critique: the Wi‑Fi is spotty in the upper floors, so if you’re a digital nomad, you might want to bring a portable hotspot.
Overall, Host Net Iverieli feels like a cozy, well‑cared‑for slice of Tbilisi that doesn’t feel like a hotel at all – more like a neighbor’s apartment that you get to stay in for a few nights. The rooftop terrace, open only during the summer months, is a hidden gem where you can sip a glass of local wine and watch the sunset paint the sky in hues of pink and orange. I left the hotel feeling a little lighter, having tasted the city’s flavors, heard its sounds, and felt the texture of its people. If you’re planning a trip to Tbilisi, this place is worth a stop, especially if you’re looking for a place that feels like a home away from home rather than a corporate lodging.

Reviews of Host Net Iverieli
Wonderful owner and son who made our stay easy – they were exceptionally kind and supportive – Claire from United Kingdom – July 10, 2025 (9/10)
Convenient location and the property had all of the basic items one would need for a stay. The extra touches of toiletries, slippers and toothbrush was very nice and clean good quality towels. The availability, flexibility, support and kindness of the owner and his son was exceptional.
What could be improved: We needed to get cash to pay when I thought a card would be accepted but maybe this is a mistake on Booking.coms site or a miscommunication- not a big problem and the owners were patient and kind in waiting for us to resolve the issue.Exceptional – Braga from Italy – December 31, 2024 (10/10)
