I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tbilisi Avlabari by IHG for a long weekend, and honestly, it was a solid choice if you’re looking for something that feels like a home base rather than a flashy resort. The hotel sits right on Lagodekhi Street, a narrow, cobblestone lane that opens onto the bustling Avlabari neighborhood. When I walked in, the lobby was surprisingly bright—no glassy, sterile vibe you find in some chains. The staff greeted me like a long‑time friend, and the check‑in was a breezy, 5‑minute affair thanks to the 24‑hour front desk. I mean, they had my name ready and a quick digital key, so I was out the door in about a minute. The room itself was clean, with a surprisingly comfortable bed that had that little springy feel you want after a night on the subway. The small balcony had a view of the old city, which is a nice touch. The city of Tbilisi is like a maze of old streets and new cafés, and staying here puts you smack in the middle of it all.

Parking is a bit of a gamble—you’ll have to hit the curb and hope for a spot, because the hotel doesn’t offer free parking and the nearest paid lot is a block away. It’s a bit of a hustle, especially in the summer when the streets are full of scooters and tourists. But the real kicker is the noise level. The hotel is on the third floor, so you don’t hear the traffic blaring from the street, but the old Soviet apartment buildings next door sometimes rattle their windows when the wind hits a certain angle. It’s a low‑level hum that you’ll probably just consider part of the city soundtrack.

  The hotel is in the very central location in 100 meters from metro station. Easy to get by car or taxi. Very clean, modern. Breakfasts are various and tasty.

  The hotel was exceptional, young people and couples friendly. The vibe is great. Very friendly staff and specially the guys at the reception, shout out to Luka. The cleanliness is great, bedroom space and the view were amazing as is for the wide menu for the breakfast. It is located just a hundred meter away from the Avlabari metro station which is very useful for the transportation in town, and only 15 minutes away from Tbilisi airport and 5 minutes walking to the Kuna river and the parcs, and most importantly it is worth the paid amount… Amazing!! Will check in for my nezt visit to Georgia 🇬🇪
