HB apartments Chikovani Overview
I landed in Tbilisi on a breezy September evening, and the first thing I noticed was how the city’s heartbeat feels like a mix of ancient drumbeats and modern synths—there’s a rhythm you can feel in the street corners and in the way people greet each other. I was headed straight to 45 Simon Chikovani Street, right in the heart of Saburtalo. The block is a blend of old Soviet apartment blocks and newer glass facades, but the vibe here is surprisingly calm, almost like a secret pocket in the city that’s been left untouched by the tourist trail.
The HB apartments Chikovani are tucked into the 3rd floor of a building that looks like it could have been a mid‑century office at any moment. The lobby is small, but the staff greet you with a warm “Good afternoon, welcome!”—the kind of greeting that feels like being invited into a friend’s home rather than a hotel. Check‑in is quick: a keyless entry system that drops a card into a sleek slot, and you’re in. No waiting in line, no tedious paperwork—just a smooth, almost breezy start. I was a bit surprised when the room’s Wi‑Fi password turned out to be “Saburtalo2025” (you’ll find it in the welcome packet on the desk).
The apartment itself is a cozy 35-square-meter space that feels surprisingly spacious. There’s a kitchenette with a tiny fridge, a coffee maker that smells like fresh espresso, and a single bed that’s covered in a quilt that looks like something out of a Georgian folk tapestry—soft, colorful, and just a touch worn from being loved by previous guests. The bathroom is compact but functional, with a shower that has a steady, comforting pressure. I did notice that the windows face the street, so on busy mornings you’ll hear the distant rumble of buses and the occasional honk of a taxi—nothing too overwhelming, but it does give you a hint of the city’s pulse from inside. The noise level is generally low, especially after 9 pm, because most of the residents are working from home during the day and the streets quiet down after the evening rush.
Parking is a bit of a mixed bag. There’s a free street parking space a block away, but it can get tight on weekends. The building does offer a small, pay‑per‑use parking lot right behind the property, but it’s a bit of a walk—around 90 meters, so you’ll be out of the apartment and out in the crisp Saburtalo air before you hit your car. On a rainy day, the walk is a quick, almost enjoyable stroll through trees that line the street, and you’ll catch the subtle scent of wet stone and the distant aroma of street food stalls that open up along the main avenue.
If you’re looking to explore the neighborhood, a few minutes’ walk brings you to the Saburtalo Mall, where you can snag a quick bite at a local sandwich shop that serves “khachapuri” with a twist—cheese wrapped in a golden, flaky dough that melts in your mouth. A short tram ride takes you to the Tbilisi Zoo, a charming spot where kids and adults alike can see the local wildlife. For a more cultural fix, head to the Tbilisi Museum of Modern Art in the evening; the light shows off the vibrant murals on the building’s exterior. And if you’re a coffee lover, the tiny café on Kolkheti Street is a hidden gem—rich, earthy brews and a barista who knows the difference between a latte and a cappuccino better than most.
All in all, HB apartments Chikovani feel like a slice of everyday Tbilisi. It’s not a luxury palace, but it’s a place where you can actually feel the city’s rhythm without being overwhelmed by the crowds. The staff are genuinely friendly, the room is comfortable, and the location offers a quiet retreat while still being close to the city’s beating heart. If you’re planning a trip to Tbilisi, especially in the early autumn when the leaves start turning gold, this place gives you a real, unfiltered feel of the city—no marketing fluff, just the honest, warm, slightly chaotic charm that makes travel such a memorable experience.

Pleasant – Sunil from India – February 9, 2025 (6/10)
What could be improved: Bed was small for two and also too soft.
Exceptional – Aleksandr from Russia – August 13, 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional – Yana from Germany – January 4, 2025 (10/10)
– Евгений from Russia – March 16, 2024 (10/10)
