Happy Home Sololaki Overview
I found myself in Tbilisi after a long flight, and the first thing that struck me was the warm, slightly musty scent of old stone and fresh coffee that hit the lobby the moment I stepped inside Happy Home Sololaki. The check‑in is surprisingly swift – the desk is manned 24/7, and the manager, a friendly woman with a quick smile, hand‑shakes you and says, “We’re ready for you” before you even finish your coffee. She mentions the Wi‑Fi password in a whisper, as if it’s a local secret, and hands you a key card that glows faintly in the dim hallway. There’s a small, almost invisible security desk that watches over the lobby, which makes you feel safe even in the early evening.
The room itself is cozy, about the size of a small studio, but it’s packed with thoughtful touches. The bed is a German mattress that feels like a cloud, and the linens are crisp with a subtle floral scent that’s not overpowering. The bathroom, although a bit cramped, has a deep shower with a good water pressure – a relief after a day of sightseeing. I noticed the curtains are made of a thick cotton that blocks out the evening traffic noise from Sulkhan‑Saba Street – the kind of subtle insulation you only appreciate when the city’s music starts to hum. The TV has a decent selection of international channels, and the minibar is stocked with local Georgian tea and a packet of homemade walnut nougat. The Wi‑Fi is decent, but you’ll probably want to use the free public Wi‑Fi at the nearby café, Café Tsiskvili, which is just a three‑minute walk away and offers a great view of the city’s historic rooftops.
Speaking of nearby spots, the hotel’s location feels like a sweet spot between the bustle of Rustaveli Avenue and the historic charm of the Old Town. Right outside the front door, you can hear the distant bells of Metekhi Church echoing through the streets – a sound that makes you pause and smile. If you’re up for a short walk, you’ll hit the Tbilisi Zoo by the end of the first block – a quirky little place that locals love, especially the kids who can’t resist the giraffes. For a more relaxed afternoon, a few minutes down Sulkhan‑Saba Street and you’ll find the new 24‑hour bakery, “Svaneti Treats,” where the aroma of freshly baked bread lingers in the air. A quick metro ride brings you to Freedom Square and the Mtatsminda Funicular, where the city’s panoramic views are worth the climb. Parking is a bit of a challenge; street parking is available but can be a hassle in the evenings, so I’d recommend leaving your car at a nearby paid lot or using a ride‑share app.
Overall, Happy Home Sololaki feels like a warm, welcoming home that’s less about flashy gimmicks and more about genuine hospitality. If you’re traveling during the quieter fall months, you’ll get the best of both worlds: the cooler weather and fewer crowds, plus a chance to truly soak in the city’s rhythm. It’s a solid choice for anyone who wants a comfortable base without sacrificing the authentic experience of Tbilisi.

Reviews of Happy Home Sololaki
Very Good – Marijana from United Kingdom – May 31, 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location, friendly host, family will undertake transfer to airport, big spacious and light rooms looking out into large courtyard. I loved the space as I was travelling with grown-up son so having living room as well as bedroom to sleep in was a plus Kitchen had everything necessary and seemed recently renovated. Bathroom not modern but totally adequate with lots of hot water and very useful modern washing machine. Other rooms sweetly old fashioned, as is the whole building. A true part of living in old Tbilisi. I should definitely return if I am lucky enough to come back to Georgia.
What could be improved: The beds took me back to times staying with old aunties in 1960s.. While appreciating that the price reflects what is offered, new cotton sheets and a plug by the bed-head, even a bedside lamp would be for me a huge plus. The beds themselves need replacing but that I realise is a big expense and will take the property into another price level.Lovely helpful landlady, great central location, good value for money. – Aodhagan from Ireland – October 10, 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Precise entrance to apartment not well marked.

What could be improved: Единственный минус – не работал холодильник, о чем нас не предупредили.On a aimé la cour intérieure, la proximité avec la vieille ville. – Elisabeth from France – May 14, 2025 (7/10)
Très bon emplacement
Bonne douche
What could be improved: Mettre des lampes de chevet dans la chambre serait très utile.
