Guesthouse Family Overview
When I first stepped onto the block of Vakhtang Bochorishvili Street, the air already smelled faintly of citrus from the street vendors and the distant hum of traffic—classic Saburtalo vibes. The Guesthouse Family has a low‑key, almost “home‑on‑the‑road” feel, which honestly felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the glass‑and‑steel hotels I’ve seen elsewhere. The front desk was a pair of friendly locals who greeted me with a hot cup of Georgian coffee, the kind that’s thick, sweet, and just enough to say, “you’re in the right place.” The check‑in process was quick—no long queues, no confusing signage. They even gave me a map of the block, pointing out the best shortcut to the metro and how to dodge the usual traffic bottleneck at the intersection with the main avenue.
The rooms themselves are cozy, with a mix of traditional Georgian textiles and modern touches: a plush bed, a small but functional workspace, and a view that lets you see the skyline of Tbilisi without the usual glassy glare. The curtains are heavy, so it’s surprisingly quiet, even on nights when the city lights up like a constellation. The bathroom is clean, with a surprisingly deep tub—great for soaking after a day of exploring. I appreciated the small touches, like the local knitted throws and a small jar of homemade jam that came with the breakfast. The breakfast itself is a no‑frills affair: fresh bread, cheese, eggs boiled to perfection, and that local tea that’s stronger than your average cup, but it’s the kind of drink you’ll keep coming back for.
Walking out of the lobby, you’re immediately in the midst of Saburtalo’s hustle. There’s a handful of tiny cafés—one with a mural of a Georgian folk dance, another that serves the best khachapuri you’ll find off‑main‑street. A short walk brings you to the Tbilisi Zoo, and just beyond that is the scenic Mtatsminda Park, which is a quick metro ride away but still worth the detour if you’re in the mood for a sunset view of the city. Parking is a bit of a challenge; the nearest public parking is a block away and can fill up by late afternoon, but the staff at the Guesthouse can recommend a small, privately owned lot that’s almost always open and reasonably priced. I spent a few minutes at a street stall selling fresh oranges, the scent of which lingered in the air long after I’d walked back.
All in all, the Guesthouse Family feels like a local’s secret spot—cheaper than the high‑end hotels but no less comfortable. It’s ideal for travelers who want to experience the pulse of Tbilisi without the tourist trap glare. Sure, the building’s façade could use a bit of paint, and I’d have liked a bit more Wi‑Fi speed for my video calls back home, but those are minor quibbles compared to the genuine warmth of the staff and the intimacy of the rooms. If you’re looking to stay somewhere that feels like a true Georgian home, with easy access to the city’s best spots and a vibe that’s half‑street, half‑sanctuary, this place will do the trick. And hey, you never know—after a day of wandering, you might just find yourself humming a folk tune from the street vendor outside the Guesthouse, feeling like you’ve finally found your own corner of Tbilisi.

Reviews of Guesthouse Family
Welcome – Bruno from France – November 17, 2024 (10/10)
Hello everyone. I recommend this studio. Very well located. The property is very good and the owner very friendly. In the studio he has everything for cooking if you want. Everything works very well and the dishes are very good. Not like in some places where they give you old dishes that we no longer want at home and they give it to tourists.

Все норм, никаких претензий, соответствует ожиданиям, спасибо за гостеприимство – Andrei from Russia – August 30, 2025 (10/10)
Тимур и Тамара спаси – Oleg from Russia – August 1, 2025 (10/10)
