GTL Apartment Overview
Tbilisi, the capital that wears its history like a badge, is a city that keeps you guessing at every corner. I remember stepping out of the metro at Avlabari station, the air already tinged with the sweet scent of fresh baked khachapuri from a nearby bakery, and thinking, “this is the spot.” The GTL Apartment is tucked into Somkheti Street 32, right in the thick of the old town’s maze, which means you’re practically on top of the city’s pulse. The building itself is a quiet 1970s block with a brick façade that feels both solid and a little nostalgic. I actually had to go on the third floor to find the little balcony that opens onto the cobbled streets; it’s a perfect spot for a late‑afternoon coffee while listening to the distant rumble of the funicular on Mtatsminda.
The apartment is a two‑bedroom pad that’s surprisingly spacious for the size of the city. The living area is airy, with a floor‑to‑ceiling window that frames the view of the Metekhi Bridge and the ancient stone walls of the Old Town. The kitchen is compact but fully equipped—there’s a kettle, a mini fridge, and a coffee machine that can make a decent latte if you’re willing to get a little elbow grease. Wifi is stable enough for streaming, though the signal drops a bit when you’re on the balcony (I mean, the city itself is the real Wi‑Fi provider, right?). Check‑in was a breeze: the staff greeted me with a warm “Good afternoon” and handed over a keyless entry code that worked like a charm—no waiting in line, no awkward hand‑shake. Parking is a bit of a hunt; there’s a small street‑parking zone on Somkheti that’s metered, so you’ll need a card, but the building’s lobby has a tiny parking spot for guests if you’re willing to drop your bag there for a few hours.
Noise-wise, Avlabari can be lively, especially early in the morning when the buses and trams start the day. It’s a constant hum that you quickly learn to ignore, especially once you’re settled on the balcony and can hear the distant church bells of Sameba. The apartment itself feels insulated; you can hear the street traffic but not the chatter of the metro below. As for the seasons, spring and autumn are the sweet spots—people are out and the city’s markets are buzzing, but the weather is still mild. Late winter is quiet and a good time if you prefer a quieter stay, though the streets get a bit slick. The only real downside I found was that the washing machine in the building’s laundry room is a bit old and can be noisy. But honestly, that’s a small price to pay for being so close to the heart of Tbilisi. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a local’s home, with easy access to the historic sights and the buzzing cafés, the GTL Apartment gets the job done—no fluff, just a solid, comfortable, and truly Tbilisi‑centric experience.
Best hotels in Tbilisi range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town to elegant hillside hotels with stunning views of the Mtkvari River and Narikala Fortress.

Comfortable beds, well thought out decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Was left alone to enjoy our time.
What could be improved: Nothing, but it would be a welcome addition to include a tea towel in the kitchen.Perfect! – Marina from Serbia – July 25, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment owner is a great person! The apartment is great for the money. I was completely satisfied, the room was very clean, and the linen and towels were fresh. Gorgi, thank you sooo much ❤️

We had an amazing family stay at this beautiful apart hotel in Tbilisi. The apartment was modern, spacious and absolutely spotless, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The quiet green location close to the center was perfect for both relaxing and exploring. There are small shops and an authentic Georgian restaurant nearby, all within walking distance. The courtyard is full of flowers and has a peaceful fountain with fish that our child loved. The hosts were truly wonderful, they welcomed us warmly and were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We felt truly cared for. The atmosphere was calm, clean and family-friendly. We will definitely return to this place again. Thank you so much!

Location, facilities and the price are perfect to be honest definitely recommend it and the staff were very friendly and helpful to us. The view is also very nice.
What could be improved: The area doesn't fit what it is from the outside when i first got there the location from the outside looked so old but then when you get inside its like a complete different place geographically its a very good location but the area doesn't meet up with the expectations although this is not their fault so its 10/10 for meVery Good – Alexej from Germany – July 16, 2024 (8/10)
Our host Leila was very friendly and helpful and prepared a very tasty breakfast every morning so that we could start the day well strengthened. The apartment was comfortable and located in a quiet area with small grocery stores nearby, where you can buy almost everything you need. We always took a taxi to get to the city centre, which was relatively affordable.
What could be improved: At the time of our stay, the cleaning help was unavailable and Leila was a bit overwhelmed. Since we had a ground floor apartment, daily room cleaning would have been nice, especially since we were travelling with our little son.Affordable and cozy apartment. – Ma from Philippines – June 1, 2024 (10/10)
The whole apartment was really cozy. What they posted on the site was the same when we got there. The place is quite far in the city but you can book a car with bolt apps and it's really cheap. Everything in the apartment is there.
I never met the host but he/she will respond to your needs. Overall, the apartment is high recommended to those who wants to have a quiet place to stay and in most affordable price.

Happy to be here, hope, this apart hotel will be one of the best place for tourists to stay! 🙏
