I’ll be honest – I was a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to the Golden Palace Hotel. The name sounds almost too grand, you know? But walking into that lobby, well, let’s just say they weren’t kidding about the “palace” part. The place has this understated elegance that doesn’t hit you over the head with flashiness, which I really appreciated. The marble floors have this warm honey tone that somehow manages to feel welcoming rather than cold and intimidating like you’d expect.

What really won me over though was how the staff handled things. I mean, you’d expect good service at a five-star place, but these folks actually seemed to remember details from previous conversations – not in that creepy, overly-scripted way, but genuinely. The concierge remembered I mentioned wanting to avoid touristy restaurants and slipped me a handwritten note with three local spots that ended up being absolutely perfect. Actually, that attention to detail shows up everywhere once you start noticing it. The housekeeping is impeccable (and I’m someone who checks behind the bathroom door and under the bed – don’t judge), and they somehow manage to restock the minibar without it feeling like someone ransacked your room.

The rooms themselves strike that perfect balance between luxurious and livable. Sure, the linens are probably thread counts I can’t even pronounce, but more importantly, the blackout curtains actually work, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train, and there are enough outlets that you’re not playing musical chairs with your devices. I stayed on the seventh floor and honestly, the soundproofing impressed me – couldn’t hear a peep from the hallway or neighboring rooms, which is saying something since I’m a pretty light sleeper. The bathroom deserves its own paragraph, really – that rainfall shower head and the heated floors made my morning routine feel like a spa ritual. With an 8.7 rating, you might expect some rough edges, but I genuinely struggled to find any major complaints. If I’m being picky, the WiFi occasionally hiccupped during video calls, and the gym gets pretty crowded around 7 AM (apparently everyone has the same bright idea about working out before meetings). But honestly? Those are minor quibbles when everything else runs like clockwork and the overall experience leaves you feeling genuinely pampered rather than just processed.

  I recently stayed at this hotel for three nights, and it was awesome! The rooms were spacious and super comfy. The breakfast at Saffron restaurant was top-notch, especially thanks to Sepehr, who was so friendly and knew a lot about the food, especially the Georgian dishes. I highly recommend this hotel!

  The booking was such last minute, but the reception staff were so friendly & accommodating. The check-in lady even paid my Bolt fare for me, as I didn't have small Lari notes.
  
  My return flight was rescheduled owing to the DXB airport floods, and the check-out crew allowed me to stay a few extra hours in the room – a true mark of hospitality.
  
  The supervisor gentleman at the restaurant was a true service provider – very elegant & polite.
