I recently stayed at the Gold District Apartment, a cozy spot in Tbilisi that feels like a hidden gem tucked into the heart of the old town. You know, the building itself is a charming, two-storey stone structure that dates back to the early 20th century—there’s a faint scent of lilacs from the courtyard garden that lingers even after you step inside. The check‑in was surprisingly quick; the front desk lady greeted me with a warm smile and handed me a key card that looked like a piece of art, complete with a tiny gold emblem that matched the name. She mentioned that the Wi‑Fi password is printed on a napkin in the lobby, which is a clever little touch that makes you feel like a local rather than a tourist.

The apartment itself is a clean, well‑furnished space that blends Georgian tradition with modern comforts. The living area has a soft, charcoal sofa that feels almost velvety, and the kitchen is fully equipped—there’s a vintage copper kettle for tea, a ceramic espresso machine, and even a small stack of Georgian cookbooks that you can borrow if you want to try your hand at making khinkali. I spent a lazy Sunday morning scrolling through the city on my laptop, sipping hot tea, and listening to the distant hum of traffic on Kote Potskhverashvili. The windows open onto a narrow street lined with poplar trees, and from there you can hear the clatter of a nearby café and the occasional shout of a street vendor selling fresh khachapuri. Honestly, the noise level is just right—there’s enough buzz to keep you connected to the city, but not so loud that it keeps you up at night.

Parking is a bit of a treasure hunt, but it’s all part of the experience. There’s a small, unmarked lot behind the building that accepts cash and card, and you’ll find a parking spot if you walk a block or two north toward the Mtsminda Avenue. I parked my car there and walked to the local market on the next block, where I tried the best lentil soup I’ve ever tasted—rich, hearty, and served in a ceramic bowl that you could actually eat from. The neighbors are friendly too; I chatted with a woman who runs a boutique on the street and learned that the best time to visit the Tbilisi Botanical Garden is early in the morning, just before the crowds arrive. The apartment’s location is great for exploring the old bazaar, and the nearby metro station makes it easy to hop over to Vake if you feel like a change of scenery. All in all, Gold District Apartment feels like a home away from home—quiet enough to relax, lively enough to feel the pulse of the city, and with enough local flavor to make every night feel special.

  We traveled to Tbilisi by train from Kutaisi, so it was superconfortable that the place is next to the station. We used Bolt and because the station there was always a taxi in a minute.
  There is a market very close which was very useful. Supermarkets also around the place. We found a little old bakery where and old baker was making shoti bread, delicious
  The dining table was good for boardgame and the computers we used.

  В квартире хорошая атмосфера, высокие потолки, полноценная трёхкомнатная квартира. Можно понять что грузины при СССР очень хорошо умели жить на фоне всей большой страны. Всё необходимое для семейного отдыха есть – телевизор, бытовая техника холодильник нормальный для трёхкомнатной квартиры, стиральная машина, плита, микроволновая печь, чайник и тд. Кухонные принадлежности все есть, даже детская кроватка для малыша, мебель нормальная и большая , места расположить вещи для большой семьи хватит вполне. Горячая вода есть, напор отличный. Соседи просто супер люди. Кто не сильно привередливый или не ищет пятизвёздочный отель смело можно заезжать. Окна выходят и на улицу и во внутренний двор. Соседи дружные и деликатные с гостями. Рядом все необходимое есть и магазины и торговые центры и рынок со специями и тд. До центральной улицы Руставели две остановки всего-то, можно и пешком при желании прогуляться чтоб грузинская еда лучше переваривалась))). Цены приемлемые, демократичные.

  Уютная квартира в центре Тбилиси.
  Все было чисто, много мелких деталей, привлекающих внимание и создающих уют.
  Хозяйка всегда была на связи.
  Тихая улица, несмотря на то, что напротив корты.
  От квартиры недалеко до метро, пешком тоже можно добраться до части достопримечательностей.
  Нам все понравилось.

  Очень отзывчмвая хозяйка. Хорошее расположение объекта. Высоаие потолки, большие помещения.
  
  What could be improved: Окно над дверью в меньшую комнату пропускает свет из гостиной, что мешает спать, если в гостиной кто-то есть. Кровать в большой комнате под кондиционером, можно простудиться.

  Очень открытая и доброжелательная хозяйка. У нас изменились планы и мы приехали в Тбилиси на сутки раньше. Несмотря на поздний час Ирина потратила свое драгоценное время, чтобы нас устроить и подсказывала дорогу. Тбилиси не совсем лёгкий город для вождения ночью в незнакомой местности уставшими за день людьми.
  Очаровательная женщина приняла все меры для нашего комфортного отдыха. Просторная с 4-х метровыми потолками квартира, 2 просторные спальни с хорошей мебелью и большая гостиная. Вся бытовая техника, кондиционер. Уютный балкон в антураже века, наверное, 18-го. Дворик-колодец. Одним словом, если вы хотите почувствовать атмосферу старого Тбилиси, но при этом пользоваться всеми благами бытового уюта, это лучшее место для остановки. На ппотивоположной стороне улицы теннисный корт с несколькими площадками и инвентарем напрокат, и если к вечеру у вас останутся силы, можно поиграть. В шаговой доступности несколько мвгазинчиков и средней руки ресторанов. Также Центральный и Дезертирский рынки, где специи и прочие вкусности вы сможете купить в 2-4 раза дешевле, чем в туристических местах. Такси относительно недорогое, но рядом метро, которым за 1 лари попадете в Старый Тбилиси, туристический район.
  Увлекся рассказом, поэтому резюме: место хорошее, хозяйка замечательная и у нас остались только прекрасные впечатления о Тбилиси.
