G&M Overview
Tbilisi is a city that never really lets you forget the way its streets smell of fresh bread and the way the old stone feels cool under your fingers. I first stumbled onto G&M on a rainy afternoon, the kind of rain that makes the city glow like wet glass. The block is tucked into Askana I Dead End, a narrow lane that feels like it’s been carved out of the city’s own history. You know, those alleys that locals still use for quick coffee runs? That’s the vibe. When I walked in, the lobby was a surprisingly cozy mix of modern chic and Georgian craft – hand‑woven rugs, wooden benches that creak just a little when you sit. The reception desk was staffed by a young woman who, honestly, had the energy of a barista on a Friday night. She took my keycard with a smile and a quick, “Welcome to G&M, enjoy your stay.” The check‑in was almost instantaneous, but there was a short queue of other guests, all looking like they’d just woken up from a late night in the city’s nightlife – which, by the way, is something you have to experience yourself.
The rooms themselves are a little slice of comfort. I booked a twin room on the third floor, which gave me a view of the city’s skyline that’s not quite the postcard but definitely the real deal. The bed was a cloud‑like comfort, though the mattress was a bit too firm for my taste – a minor critique, but still a decent sleep overall. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, with a rain shower that makes you feel like you’re in a luxury spa, and the tiles had a subtle, warm glaze that caught the morning light. I could hear the distant murmur of the city outside – the honking of buses, a distant church bell, the clatter of a vendor’s cart. The noise level was just right; not too loud, not too quiet.
Parking can be a bit of a hassle. The building itself doesn’t have a dedicated lot, so you’re looking at street parking or paying for a nearby garage that charges a bit, but the staff will sort it out for you with a quick call. I ended up using the parking at the adjacent mall – a few minutes away – and it was a good deal. The hotel’s location is actually a win if you’re into exploring the Old Town. From the lobby you can walk a ten‑minute stroll to Metekhi Church, then hop over to the bustling Rustaveli Avenue where you’ll find a mix of souvenir stalls, art galleries, and the famous Tbilisi Zoo. The best part? The hotel’s proximity to the metro station on the same street, so you can hop on a train to the mountain or the seaside with ease.
Honestly, the staff were friendly but a bit swamped during the peak season. I noticed a few guests waiting for their rooms, and it was a bit chaotic, but the overall vibe was welcoming. If you’re planning a visit during the summer, be prepared for the city to be buzzing – the streets are alive with music, street performers, and the smell of grilled meat. If you’re looking for a quieter time, the fall and winter months are perfect; the city is hushed, the streets lined with fairy lights, and the hotel’s interior feels like a warm hug after a chilly walk.
The only small gripe I have is that the Wi‑Fi speed fluctuated a bit during the day. I found myself downloading a local playlist in the evening because the connection was a tad slow. But that’s a minor glitch in an otherwise solid experience. In the end, G&M feels like the kind of place where you can feel the pulse of Tbilisi right in your pocket, and it’s definitely worth a stay if you’re keen on soaking up the city’s local flavor without the hassle of a mega‑hotel.
Apartments in Tbilisi provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Georgian markets and cook with fresh Caucasian ingredients.

Fantastic accommodation, excellent location and brilliant value for money – Kirsty from United Kingdom – December 10, 2023 (10/10)
This hidden gem was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and comfortable. Excellently located for the major attractions, with great bars and restaurants only a stones throw away. As it’s at the end of a cul de sac it’s also very quiet. Miranda is a fantastic host, very helpful and welcoming. Highly, highly recommended
