Giorgi’s apartment Overview

Tbilisi, that city that feels like a living postcard, is where Giorgi’s apartment lives. I found it tucked on 3 Shakriani Street, just a stone’s throw from the old fortress walls. The building itself is a charming mix of Soviet-era bricks and fresh, modern paint—an odd but delightful contrast that instantly tells you this place has been reimagined for today’s wanderer. When I first walked in, the scent of fresh coffee wafted from the tiny kitchenette, and the sound of a distant church bell gave the whole room a sense of place. Check‑in was quick—no long queue, just a friendly handshake from Giorgi himself, who gave a quick tour of the apartment and dropped a list of nearby spots that only locals would know. Parking is a bit of a puzzle; the street is narrow and cars are scarce, but there’s a small underground lot just a block away where you can lock your car without the city’s usual scramble.

The apartment itself is a cozy 2‑bedroom setup that feels like a home away from home. The living area, with its soft couch and a small bookshelf full of travel guides, invites you to sit down and relax after a day of exploring. I found the bed incredibly comfortable—plush sheets, a fluffy duvet, and pillows that actually support your neck. The kitchen is compact but functional: a coffee maker, a fridge, a small stove, and a tiny dining nook that’s perfect for a quick bite. One thing I love is the window that looks out onto the cobblestone street—every evening it captures the city’s lights flickering against the ancient walls, and you can hear the distant chatter of people in the evening market. Noise levels are moderate; the apartment is insulated enough that you’re not constantly hearing the traffic from the main road, but you can definitely feel the city’s heartbeat.

Now, about the surrounding area—this is where the apartment really shines. If you’re into local coffee, there’s a tiny espresso shop on the corner of Shakriani and a street that I like to call the “hidden alley.” The shop, called “Khinkali & Kava,” serves the best khinkali in town, and the barista is a friendly old man who knows everyone’s names. For those who love a good stroll, the fortress wall is just a ten‑minute walk away, offering panoramic views of the city at sunset. If nightlife is on your agenda, the neighborhood has an eclectic mix of bars and small clubs, each with its own vibe. I went to a place called “The Black Rose,” a speakeasy with a secret entrance behind a stack of old books; it was a fun surprise. I also found a tiny, family‑run bakery on the opposite side of the street that sells the most amazing pastries—especially the “sugar cake” that melts in your mouth. The best time to visit for quiet hours is early morning; the city is still asleep, and you can enjoy a cup of coffee in complete silence. During the busy season, the streets get lively, and you’ll hear the clatter of dishes from the restaurants, which adds to the authentic city experience.

Honestly, this place feels like a breath of fresh air in Tbilisi. Giorgi’s apartment is not just a place to sleep; it’s a portal into the local culture, a place where you can pause, reflect, and get a genuine sense of the city’s rhythm. The small touches—like the handwritten note that says “Enjoy your stay!” and the local map with pins on hidden gems—show that the owner really cares about guests. I would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you’re looking for a place that feels more like a neighbor’s home than a generic hotel. It’s a spot that will stay in your memory long after you’ve left the city’s vibrant streets.

Reviews of Giorgi’s apartment

  • Thanks a lot for a host. We had a great time – Azizakhon from Uzbekistan – July 24, 2025 (8/10)

The price and everything was clean, especially bed sheets. Good location in a city

What could be improved: The timing of check in was not as it was mentioned here. And also it is quite small for 4 people. Excellent for 2

  • Nice rooms & very clean – Hajee from India – June 25, 2025 (9/10)

    All very good

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Depends on the price it was very good choice. – Hayk from Armenia – August 3, 2023 (8/10)

First of all very good and warm staff. Location was also good , it’s not in the center , but it’s not far from the main touristic attractions (15-20 minutes) as well. The street was very safe and not noisy. The room was clean .

What could be improved: The room facilities wasn’t that perfect, there were some uncomfortable conditions in the bathroom.

  • Wonderful – Denis from Russia – October 28, 2022 (9/10)

Great appartments, good location near the center and old Tbilisi, fantastic view from the second floor, quiet enough

What could be improved: Shower got clogged up, so the bathroom was flooded with water, but was fastly fixed up by the personal. A bit cold on the first floor in the morning.

  • Apartment by the Holly Trinity Cathedral in Avlabar. – Ramai from United States – April 28, 2024 (8/10)

Main thing is how quiet this place is. The street has plenty of free parking and it is safe to park. It is a residential area. Orthodox cathedral right outside. There are city buses right around the corner. Subway is kinda far. I lied the solid bad, shower size and water pressure, fridge is big and the living room.

What could be improved: Amount of lighting in the shower. It was hard to see my face when I was shaving. Maybe ambient lighting in the bedroom is needed.

  • Good – Azadeh from Canada – September 14, 2022 (7/10)

The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The decoration is nice.

What could be improved: The bathroom was not clean and disinfected. I found hair at the bathroom. Water was collected at the floor of bathroom.
There was no washing machine or washing liquid for the dishes.

  • Exceptional – Ali from United Arab Emirates – November 27, 2023 (10/10)

The best best best best place ever.

  • Not a great stay – Valentina from Russia – August 28, 2025 (2/10)

On the positive side, the view from the upstairs apartment is stunning, the host replies quickly, the Wi-Fi is ok, and there’s an outdoor space with a big table that guests can use.

What could be improved: I’d have given this place a higher rating, taking the price into account, if it weren’t for an issue we had at check-out. We had a single booking for three apartments, and some of us left early in the morning. I came down from the upstairs apartment to have breakfast and check out around 10:30, only to discover that two apartments had already been cleaned and all my stuff—breakfast, coffee, food and water for the road, and most importantly, gifts in a branded bag I had stored in the fridge—had been thrown away. I might have left the door to one of the apartments unlocked, but the second one was definitely closed and I still had the key, yet both apartments were cleaned anyway. This is unacceptable. They should have waited until I checked out before getting rid of my things. I had to repurchase the items they threw out. The owner offered no compensation and said we should’ve told them in advance that the place would be partly vacated in the morning, but I don’t believe a few hours make any difference—especially since all three apartments had been booked together and we still had time until the official check-out.
There clearly is a communication problem between the owner/manager and the staff who take care of the apartments. For example, when we arrived, there wasn’t enough bed linen because they didn’t know how many people were coming (which was clearly stated in the booking information). Also, three cups and glasses for five people is obviously not enough. This isn’t a major problem on its own, but taken together it suggests that communication is lacking.
Overall, the pictures don’t reflect the reality. The place is more run-down and darker than in the photos, and there’s a weird smell coming from the couches downstairs and one of the bathrooms. The upstairs shower also needs to be repaired. Kitchenware is sparse if you want to cook properly (though they do have air fryers).

  • Pleasant – Bart from Poland – July 7, 2025 (6/10)

    All apartment for me

What could be improved: you can hear everything the neighbors are doing behind the wall at night

  • Cannot recommend this property – Maureen from Australia – October 18, 2022 (4/10)

clean, relatively new, great view from bedroom

What could be improved: *very dangerous at top of stairs in bedroom as no barrier to prevent falls; exacerbated by the toilet being downstairs
*bed was just a mattress on the floor surrounded by timber
    * there was a rod held by rope at the top of the stairs, presumably for hanging clothes, however way too close to the open staircase to use
*toilet seat broken loose from toilet/not fitted onto toilet
    * bedding was one sheet that wasn’t fitted to mattress, one blanket, no mattress protector
*no information about property, shops close by, other surroundings etc
*despite informing the owner of our late night arrival time there was none to greet us, give us keys etc until owner contacted and then he sent a neighbour
*when asked by text to help us order a taxi for our departure owner did not reply until two days later
