Georgian Guest House on Asatiani Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Georgian Guest House on Asatiani? It’s how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Georgian hospitality and modern comfort without feeling like they’re trying too hard. I mean, when you first walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually lives here – or at least cares about the place like they do.
The location on Asatiani Street is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble. You’ll hear the gentle hum of local life – people chatting on their balconies in the evenings, the occasional car puttering down the cobblestones, but it’s never overwhelming. Actually, I found it quite soothing after long days of exploring. The rooms have this lived-in elegance that’s hard to describe – traditional Georgian touches mixed with clean, contemporary furniture that doesn’t feel sterile. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and honestly, the shower pressure was better than some five-star places I’ve stayed at. What really won me over though was how the staff – and I think the owner too – genuinely seemed to care about your experience. Not in that rehearsed hospitality way, but like they’re actually proud of their city and want you to love it as much as they do. They’ll give you directions to places that aren’t in guidebooks, recommend the bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM (trust me on this one), and somehow always seem to know exactly what you need before you ask.
The whole place feels like staying with a well-traveled friend who happens to have impeccable taste. Sure, it’s not the fanciest spot in town, and you might occasionally hear footsteps from upstairs – but that’s part of its charm, really. The common areas have this wonderful warmth to them, with books scattered around and local artwork that looks like it was chosen by someone who actually appreciates it rather than an interior designer checking boxes. I spent quite a few mornings just sitting in their little courtyard area with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. For what you’re paying, especially considering that solid 8-rating they’ve earned, it’s honestly one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The kind of spot where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.
Hotels near me in Tbilisi offer convenient access to the ancient center, where guests can easily walk to sulfur baths, Peace Bridge, and traditional wine cellars.

This place has a very good and comfortable location. It has everything you need for a short stay. Also, the host is very communicative and ready to help. In my case, she left keys in accessible place because me and my father were arriving in the late night. Also, there is a loggia that is has a wonderful view and very good for rest after a long walk.

Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Friendly, accomodating staff. Shared living room to enjoy time with company. There is also a full kitchen, but we only enjoyed tea in the morning.

This is relatively small guest house, not a hotel. I had a nice relationship with the owner / manager, Leia (I probably misspelled her name). We had a number of good conversations in English (her English was somewhat limited) about Tbilisi and various aspects of Georgia. She was friendly and helpful. There was a good kitchen with a fridge, and I was able to take advantage of that. The room had an open window for fresh air, but also AC to handle the hot days. The terrace above the rooms was nice, although I only used during the day when the sun was too hot. The bathroom and room were scrupulously clean.
The location was good – within easy walking distance of restaurants and the central square (with metro). All around the hotel were clubs and bars, including a nice restaurant just across the street.
The most important aspect of GGH was Leia, the owner. (There was no "staff") She was terrific.Gwyneth from United States (7/10)
Lia was a great hostess and the location is great with a lovely cafe just across the street.

The house was in old part of Tbisli and made everything accessible. The owner was nice and helpful. The rooms, bed sheets and towels were super clean. It also had a nice balcony which in sunny days its a nice place to relax.
