Gallery Palace Hotel Overview

I recently stayed at the Gallery Palace Hotel in Tbilisi, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a quiet, stylish capsule of the city’s modern pulse. The building is tucked just off Pavle Ingorokva Street, a block away from the bustling Rustaveli Avenue, so you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from cafés, shops, and the old town’s winding alleys. The lobby’s minimalistic vibe—think clean lines, muted tones, and a touch of artisanal wood—gives off a vibe that’s both contemporary and unpretentious. The front desk staff were friendly but no-nonsense; check‑in was quick, and they gave you a small map with a handwritten note pointing out the best spots for a quick coffee before heading to the metro. Parking is a bit of a hunt; the hotel offers a small paid lot, but the real gem is the underground parking under the nearby metro station, which is just a five‑minute walk away.

The room itself was a 4‑star affair: a spacious, airy layout with a queen bed that felt like a cloud, a flat‑screen TV with a decent selection of international channels, and a bathroom that actually had a rain shower rather than the usual cramped showerheads you find in many budget places. I found the linens surprisingly thick, which made a difference on a humid February evening. The only slight annoyance was the noise from the street during the day—though that’s to be expected in a city that never truly sleeps—but the walls are solid enough that it kept my sleep intact. I did notice that the minibar was a bit on the pricey side; the local coffee was decent, but you’ll want to bring your own espresso machine if you’re a coffee connoisseur. The room’s balcony (yes, it exists!) offered a great view of the old city’s rooftops, especially at sunset when the light turned the entire skyline goldBreakfast was a modest affair but surprisingly varied—fresh pastries, a yogurt station, and a selection of local cheeses that made me think of the mountain pastures near Gudauri. The staff were friendly and offered the option to bring your breakfast to the balcony, which I did because the view was too good to miss. After checking out, I took a bus to Mtatsminda Park to catch the funicular. The ride was smooth, and the park’s panoramic view of the city (especially the fortress and Metekhi Church) was unforgettable. For locals, the best time to visit the park is early morning or late evening to avoid the crowds that flock during the summer solstice celebrations. If you’re heading to the hotel during the peak tourist season (late October to early December for the Christmas markets), expect a bit more hustle and a higher noise level at the nearby cafés, but the hotel’s soundproofing holds up pretty well.

Overall, the Gallery Palace Hotel feels a well‑maintained in a city that’s constantly evolving. It’s not a luxury palace—no over‑the‑top spa or five‑star dining—yet it offers all the essentials plus a few thoughtful extras that make a stay comfortable. If you’re looking for a place that’s close to the action yet still gives you a quiet retreat, this one’s worth the check‑in. And honestly, you step out of the lobby,’ll already be thinking about your next stroll through the cobblestone streets, a cappuccino in hand, and the city’s endless, free‑wheeling charm.

Reviews of Gallery Palace Hotel

  • Very good, would stay at hotel again – Lesley from United Kingdom – August 13, 2025 (8/10)

Hotel is in a good location for exploring Tbilisi. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good

What could be improved: Kettle in room but no cups provided

  • It was a good stay and I would book it again if I come to Tbilisi – Arwand from Iraq – June 6, 2025 (8/10)

    Location is perfect

What could be improved: Breakfast can be improved a little

  • Good – Shubham from United Arab Emirates – June 5, 2025 (7/10)

The location is superb. Very close to center. The room is spacious and quite well equipped for Indian tourist to be specific, especially the washroom (if you know what I mean😉)

What could be improved: The staff are less welcoming.
Breakfast options quite limited and bland in taste.

  • Very Good – Ahmed from Finland – May 29, 2025 (8/10)

Very clean hotel comfortable rooms and location perfect. You can walk to everywhere. Breakfast was good.

What could be improved: The reception was empty most of the time, in spite it should be 24/7 open reception. Early morning and late night there was no one there. There is no way to contact the personnel if you need something

  • Very Good – Michael from Israel – April 24, 2025 (8/10)

    everything was good

    What could be improved: all

  • You get less than expect, but it is still very good sleep quality. – Alexei from Kazakhstan – April 23, 2025 (7/10)

Sleep quality – great. This is so rare in Georgia to find such a quiet place with greatest possible bedding. This is the greatest achievement of the hotel. Thank you for this.

What could be improved: Breakfast without coffee? In Georgia? Seriously? The food variety is well below of what is expected from such hotel. Personnel attitude also leaves much to be desired. Below are the pictures of the toilet, which is installed wrong and nobody cares, a car, parked blocking both doors of the hotel and nobody cares (there are three police cars in the direct vicinity, but nobody cares). In the room ventilation is off by default. This is at least strange, as you expect the guest with the advanced booking and had plenty of time to prepare the room.

  • Very Good – Mihaela from Israel – April 16, 2025 (8/10)

the furniture is old, the location is very good and the staff is very friendly

  • Modernish Hotel, very nice stay, lovely position in Tbilisi, nice rooms – Hpeterb from United Kingdom – March 15, 2025 (8/10)

Very nice modernish hotel. They were very nice to us when the lift didn't work. OK breakfast…ask for scrambled eggs

  • Good – Eleftheria from Greece – March 13, 2025 (7/10)

Great location clean bedsheets great staff

What could be improved: Carpet had stains and was dirty, desk was dirty but the sheets and bathroom were clean. During our stay they didn’t have an elevator but everything was good overall.

  • Good – Aldrich from Philippines – March 12, 2025 (7/10)

    Rooms are clean.

What could be improved: Elevators are out of order during our 2 nights stay. Good thing we've decided to downgrade our room from suite rooms on the 5th floor to twin rooms on the first floor because of elevators being out of order.
