Downtown Two-bedrom Apartment Overview
I just spent a week in the Downtown Two-bedrom Apartment, tucked in the heart of Tbilisi on 1 Taras Shevchenko Street. The building’s façade is a mix of old Soviet brick and fresh white paint that looks almost too pretty for the hustle‑and‑rush of the city. When I stepped out onto the sidewalk, the scent of roasted chestnuts from a nearby vendor mingled with the sharp tang of exhaust – a quintessential Tbilisi morning. The street is narrow, with a few cafés spilling onto the curb; a couple of locals were laughing over coffee, their conversation a gentle background hum that made the place feel lived in rather than sterile. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt – you can snag a spot on the public street, but it’s a good idea to have a backup plan because the alley behind the building is often full of delivery vans. I spent a good hour walking down Mtkvari Avenue to get a feel for the neighborhood, and it turns out that a few blocks away the Mtatsminda Park cable car is a quick, free ride that offers a panoramic view of the city that’s worth the extra coffee.
Check‑in was surprisingly smooth – the host, a cheerful woman named Nino, welcomed me at 3 pm with a warm smile and handed over a keycard that worked for both the apartment and the building’s small laundry room. She was quick to point out that the apartment’s Wi‑Fi password is “tbilisi2025”, and that the fridge is stocked with a few essentials like bottled water and a small assortment of local cheeses. The room itself is spacious, with a king‑size bed that feels like a hug after a long day of walking. The bathroom has a rain shower that’s surprisingly powerful, and the tiles have a subtle mosaic that feels like a nod to Georgian craftsmanship. I found the noise level in the building to be moderate – the elevator tends to be the most disruptive, but you can block out the city’s traffic with a pair of decent earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
One of the things I loved was the apartment’s little balcony, a perfect spot for a late‑night espresso while watching the city lights blink on. The view captures the distant silhouette of Mtatsminda and the gentle glow of the river crossing. I also appreciated the fact that the building’s laundry room has a hot water tap, which comes in handy on those humid summer days when you want a quick rinse. The only real drawback was that the apartment’s heating is a bit underpowered – during the cold winter months it takes a while for the radiators to kick in, so I had to layer up with a thick sweater that came with the room. But honestly, that’s a small price to pay for the authentic, almost homely feel of the place. If you’re looking to soak up the real rhythm of Tbilisi, this apartment is a solid, no‑frills, genuine spot that feels like a quiet refuge amid the city’s vibrant pulse.

The location was perfect for exploring on foot, and the apartment itself was beautiful, boasting high ceilings, parquet floors, and stylish furniture.
Giorgi warmly greeted us outside the apartment and assisted with our luggage. Checking out was a breeze, simply leaving the keys inside.

This is a great spot very close to public transit, yet quite and private. Great communication with george made everything very easy. We enjoyed this spotless accommodation in Central Tbilisi. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for hosting us.

This apartment was great! The location was very good. It was super easy to go into the city by foot. Host also offered a transfer service from the airport to the apartment which was great. He made sure that we had a child seat as well. I would highly recommend this apartment for everyone who would like to explore Tbilisi.

Staff was extremely helpful. We wanted to make a day trip to Sighnagi and host helped us arrange the trip for an acceptable price. The communication was very easy and quick. We got a lot of advice about our stay and staff helped us to reserve for us the best restaurant in the city. The apartment is nicely decorated with a lot of nice details. 100% would come back to this apartment again!

Host was super helpful and responsive in anything I asked, he was always offering different suggestions and tried his best to make our stay enjoyable. Location of apt was perfect, walking distance to most sightseeing spots and had many cafes and restaurants close-by, as well as supermarkets and shops. Would recommend anyone who asks for a place in Tbilisi to stay at this apt.

It is an absolutely clean and well-equipped apartment with a lovely atmosphere. It is really cosy for a couple or couples to spend a few days in Tbilisi, really close to the restaurants, bars, castles and every landmark of the city, only 7-8 min from the central square. Even though it is in the heart of the city, it is absolutely quiet in the apartment, and the air conditioner is also super silent.
