I spent a week in Tbilisi and my first stop was the Doors Boutique Hotel, tucked away on 15 Garekakheti Street. The lobby was surprisingly roomy, with a mix of modern touches and Georgian antiques that made you feel like you’d slipped into a chic, secret apartment rather than a hotel. When you check in, the staff greet you by name—well, at least they try to—because the reception desk is a tight space that makes you feel like you’re part of a small family. Honestly, the handshake and the quick key‑card exchange felt more personal than the usual corporate drone. Parking is free, but you might have to circle around a few blocks to find a spot; the lot behind the building is small, and the GPS will likely lead you to the wrong side of the street. The noise from the main traffic lane is muted, thanks to double‑pane windows, but you can hear the distant hum of buses and the occasional clatter of street vendors.

The rooms themselves are an old‑world dream with clean, crisp linens and a subtle scent of rose water that lingers from the curtains. The bathroom has a deep, luxurious bathtub that’s perfect for soaking after a day of walking. The Wi‑Fi is decent, though it can be a bit spotty on the 12th floor during peak hours—so if you’re a serial blogger, you might need to move your laptop to the balcony. The breakfast spread is a highlight: a corner of the room’s balcony overlooks the street, where you can watch street coffee vendors roast beans. I ordered the traditional khachapuri, and the cheese was just the right balance of salty and buttery, with a hint of herbs that made my taste buds dance. The bar downstairs serves a decent selection of local wines, and the staff can recommend a glass that pairs perfectly with the city’s vibrant street art scene.

  It was a very satisfactory and very comfortable stay at the Doors Hotel. Good room and good value for money. The staff was very cooperative and super helpful, and I would recommend staying here. A very decent breakfast spread.
