I recently stayed at the Deluxe Prince Machabeli Suite in Tbilisi, and let me tell you – it’s one of those spots where the city’s pulse feels almost like a personal invitation. The address, 6 Giorgi Leonidze Street, sits right in the heart of the old town, just a stone’s throw from the Metekhi Church and a quick hop to the Old Bridge. The building itself is a charming two‑storey apartment block that locals refer to as “the one with the big windows.” The front desk is on the first floor, and honestly, the check‑in was smoother than I expected – the staff greeted me with a friendly “Good morning” and gave me a quick digital swipe of my ID, no long queue, no awkward waiting. I mean, there were a few other guests, but the vibe was relaxed, like the neighbor who’s always humming in the hallway.

The suite, on the third floor, Apartment 8, is surprisingly spacious. The floor plan feels like a small loft, with a living area that opens onto a balcony overlooking a narrow cobblestone lane. You can actually hear the distant chatter of vendors and the occasional clatter of pots from the nearby restaurants – that’s the kind of background noise that tells you you’re in the thick of the city, not on a quiet suburb. The interior is clean and airy, with a subtle Georgian touch: a small wooden sculpture of a horse near the entrance, a bit of traditional embroidery on the cushions. The lighting is warm, and the bed is a comfy, high‑quality mattress that leaves you ready for a nap after a long day of walking. I found the bathroom to be surprisingly spacious; the shower had a good pressure, and there was a small bottle of scented soap that smelled like citrus, which was a nice touch.

Parking is a bit of a game. The street around Giorgi Leonidze is narrow, and you’re going to find that most spots are taken by locals or delivery trucks. I ended up using a paid parking stall a block away, which costs a modest fee but is worth the convenience. If you’re on a tight budget, you can also look for a spot on the side of the building’s courtyard – it’s a bit of a scramble, but the building’s doorman is helpful if you ask. Noise-wise, the suite is pretty quiet inside, thanks to the thick walls. The only time you hear the city’s heartbeat is late at night, when the streetlights flicker and distant music from a nearby café seeps through. This place is best booked in late spring or early autumn – the weather is mild, the city isn’t too busy with tourists, and you can enjoy the fresh air without the summer heat or the winter chill. All in all, it feels like a home that’s ready for you, with a touch of local charm that you can’t fake. I genuinely recommend it if you want to soak in Tbilisi’s authentic vibe without going through the usual tourist traps.

  The room was exquisitely beautiful. Very well maintained. The in room cooking facilities was very convenient. Absolutely at the heart of the city. Convenient public transport and shops nearby.
  
  What could be improved: The way up the stairs can be very daunting and the place has a very eerie (haunted) vibe. There are no curtains separating the bathroom glass window from the room.
