Davit’s Apartments 21 Overview

I stayed in Tbilisi last month and stumbled upon Davit’s Apartments 21, tucked along Elene Akhvlediani Khevi – a street you’ll recognize once you’re walking past the old church that’s been renovated into a cozy café. The building itself feels like a quiet, modern refuge amid the bustling city. When you arrive, the front desk greets you with a warm smile (you know what, that’s a rare find in the area), and the check‑in process is slick – just a quick scan of your ID and a digital key that pops onto your phone. No long line, no confusing paperwork, just a smooth start to your stay.

The apartment is a snug 30‑square‑meter space that feels surprisingly and the minimalist decor keeps the focus on the view. From the balcony you can hear the distant hum of traffic and the occasional shouts from the street vendors selling khinkali and lobio. The bed is a plush platform mattress with organic cotton sheets that feel like a hug. The bathroom is a clean, glass‑door space with a rain shower – the water runs hot and steady, and the scent of eucalyptus soap lingers. Honestly, the little touches like a local art print on the wall and a bowl of fresh fruit at the end of the day make it feel like a home away from home, not a generic hotel.

Now, let’s talk practical stuff. Parking is a bit of a mixed bag: there’s a small underground lot right next to the building, but it fills up fast during tourist season. If you’re driving, you’ll likely have to hop onto the street and find a in the next block, which can be a bit of a hunt. The noise from the main traffic arteries is manageable, but if you’re a light sleeper, the evening buzz from the nearby restaurant bar can seep in. I mean, the city really comes alive at night, and the street’s lively atmosphere is part of the charm – you hear musicians playing in the square, and the aroma of roasted chestnuts wafting from the vendor stalls. During the summer, the place gets a tad warmer, but there’s a gentle breeze from the nearby park that keeps the air from feeling stuffy. If you’re traveling during the peak season, book early because the room inventory gets tight around June and July.

The neighborhood itself is a treasure trove for locals and tourists alike. A five‑minute stroll takes you to Rustaveli Avenue, where you can catch the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre or pop into a boutique shop. On the opposite side, there’s a little tea house that’s been around since the Soviet era – the tea is strong, but the conversation is even stronger. If you’re into nature, just a ten‑minute walk and you’re at Mtatsminda Park, with its panoramic view of the city and a funicular that’s a must‑try for the adventurous. The Tbilisi Zoo is also nearby, and it’s surprisingly well-kept, especially for the younger travelers. The hotel’s location makes it easy to hop on a bus or take a taxi, but the public transport system in Tbilisi is fairly reliable just outside the building that goes straight to the central railway station.

All in all, Davit’s Apartments 21 offers a laid‑back, authentic experience that feel staged. The staff’s friendliness, the apartment’s cozy aesthetic, and the street’s lively rhythm combine to give you a slice of everyday Tbil place that feels like a personal invitation rather than a sales pitch, this is the spot. The only critique I’d have is that if you

Reviews of Davit’s Apartments 21

  • Lovely – Dr from Bahrain – August 18, 2025 (10/10)

Small cozy apartment with everything. We stayed in many hotels and apartments but find this one the best.
The owners are very sweet and helpful. They welcomed us with ice cream and gave us the mobile charger also as we dint have the required one to be used in the sockets. They have bidet also.

  • A great option for a family stay. – Marina from Georgia – June 3, 2024 (9/10)

A very spacious apartment in an amazing location. Feels like you are staying in a peaceful countryside, although it's just a short walk to the Rike park. Davit is an exceptionally friendly and welcoming host.

What could be improved: It is a little dark in the apartment, indoor lighting could be improved.

  • Great place, could stay again – Jaakko from Finland – November 17, 2023 (9/10)

I stayed at this place for two weeks, working remotely. That's enough time that you either grow accustomed to a place – or if it's not great, the small things start to annoy you. This place started to feel like home. Lots of space and everything works. I could stay here again, especially if the indoor lightning was improved. This a ground-level floor surrounded by 3-story buildings, and there is very little sunlight coming in – some cheap floor lamps would be a great improvement to get indirect light. The ceiling lamps are a bit harsh for longer stays.

What could be improved: Just a few minor things in the kitchen: The knives would need to be sharpened and frying pans changed to stainless steel (teflon pans never survive in short-term rentals). Also some of the surfaces need deep cleaning. Other than that the kitchen was well-equipped and functioned great.

  • Live like an aristocrat in this mansion – Lionel from Australia – September 8, 2023 (10/10)

This is the ground floor of a mansion built about 1900.At 90 square metres it is 3 times the size of usual apartments.Contains attractive period furniture. It has a yard. The owners live on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Very big fridge, plenty of kitchen things, the washing machine has an inbuilt dryer.
There is solid flywire screening completely covering the windows nailed onto the window frames from the outside-it's absolutely impossible for mosquitoes to get in when the windows are open.
    Very large tv screen.

  • Cozy home stay a walk away from the old city – Eric from Czech Republic – September 17, 2022 (10/10)

Such a cozy apartment at an advantageous location to the city (a walk away from the old city). Just a walk up the hill will get you to the 3rd largest church in Christendom. The parking space was right at the entrance on a no outlet side street. The hosts were so kind to leave us some fruit and drinks in the refrigerator. The next day, Davit took us for a walk up the hill and told us a little bit about the area. He also gave us a taste of his saperavi grapes and homemade wine, and dropped off some ice cream to chat awhile before we walked around. This was the best place; we didn't want to leave! Thank you!!

  • Все очень понравилось, всем рекомендую. – Elena from Russia – August 16, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Такого не имеется
