Cozy apartment with amazing views in Old Tbilisi Overview

I arrived in Tbilisi last summer, and the first thing that caught my eye was the cozy apartment with amazing views in Old Tbilisi. The building itself is a classic stone structure that feels like it’s been standing since the 1800s, with ivy creeping up the walls and a small balcony that offers a postcard‑like view of the Narikala fortress and the winding river below. I mean, honestly, the view is so majestic that it almost makes you forget you’re just a few minutes from the city’s hustle. The apartment is small but thoughtfully furnished – a reclaimed wood sofa, a tiny kitchenette that actually works, and a vintage lamp that casts a warm glow over the living area. The host, a young Georgian named Lado, was super friendly. He dropped off a key card and gave me a quick tour of what to expect, like, “There’s a small coffee machine, a kettle, and a few extra pillows if you need them.” I appreciated that he didn’t just hand me a pamphlet; he talked about the best corner cafés on Betlemi Street and how the local market near the Tbilisi TV Tower is a must‑visit for fresh figs and local honey.

Speaking of Betlemi Street, you’ll find it a charming, narrow lane that’s peppered with traditional cafés, art galleries, and a handful of craft shops. I walked there on a Saturday morning, and the street was alive with the smell of freshly baked khachapuri and the chatter of locals bargaining for handmade scarves. The apartment has a small balcony that overlooks the traffic on the main road, but the noise is surprisingly manageable – it’s a soft hum that fades as the day goes on. If you’re a night owl, the city quiets down after 10 p.m., so you can sleep to the gentle rhythm of late‑night conversations and distant church bells. Parking can be a bit of a headache; the street is narrow, but there’s a small, somewhat hidden parking lot behind the building, and Lado gave me the exact coordinates. I parked there without a hitch, and it’s just a stone’s throw from the apartment door.

I spent most of my morning exploring the nearby Old Town, where the cobblestones are a little uneven but charming, and the churches have breathtaking frescoes that you can’t miss. The Mtkvarze Street is just a two‑minute walk away – it’s the place where you can grab a traditional Georgian tea (kavari) and a slice of fresh poppy seed cake. I also checked out the Tbilisi History Museum, which is a short walk and houses a fascinating collection of artifacts that tell the city’s story from ancient times to the Soviet era. The apartment’s location is actually a sweet spot for both tourists and locals: you’re close enough to the city’s main attractions but far enough to escape the constant traffic noise that you can feel in the subway tunnels. The host also mentioned that during the peak tourist season (June to August) the area can get a bit crowded, especially around the fortress, but the street cafés stay open late, which is great if you’re looking for a late‑night bite.

All in all, staying in this little gem was a real highlight of my trip. It’s not just a place to sleep; it’s a place

Reviews of Cozy apartment with amazing views in Old Tbilisi

  • Really great – amazing views & super comfy – Zarvan from Switzerland – July 26, 2025 (10/10)

I very rarely write reviews but this place deserves it. Apartment is great, spacious, clean, comfy. Prepared as if close friends are coming & the hosts want them to enjoy both inside as well as outside. Once you enter, the balcony on the first floor will take your breath away: so catch up with your breathing since the space & the view from the one on the second floor is even better! And location is great to see & enjoy the city. Really NOTHING to complain about, rather the contrary!!! Will recommend & stay there again, absolutely.

What could be improved: You have to climb stairs to access the property, so heavy luggage is a hindrance. However, the place is worth all of it.

  • Exceptional – Christina from Denmark – July 20, 2025 (10/10)

This is the best stay one would find in Tbilisi! The view is amazing and the location is perfect. The host was available even at night. Everything was great.

  • Exceptional – Cobby from Israel – December 24, 2022 (10/10)

Great location and amazing view from balconies, comfortable and Causey, all was very good. Many good restaurants/bars and coffee shops around.

What could be improved: Many stairs to reach the destination but each stair is worth the effort of the place and the view.

    What could be improved: None

  • overall good value – Orchard from United Arab Emirates – April 10, 2023 (7/10)

    location. views

What could be improved: needs some maintenance

  • Good – Douglas from United States – June 9, 2025 (7/10)

We decided to stay here due to the hope of a great view, and we were not disappointed. The view has got to be one of the best in the city. The bed was comfortable and seemed very good quality, but the sheets were not to the same level of quality, nor were the pillows.

What could be improved: For the price, i was expecting a luxury place. It was not. Nothing was new or newly renovated, or if it was, it was not a good job. For the price they are asking, it did not meet my expectations. A place like this with that amazing view, and higher price, should be much better inside to match. The small bathrooms smelled a bit, and there were a couple large bugs in the place that had to be taken care of (one in my bed). Not sure what kind of bugs, they looked like large lightning bugs. To have that good view, it is high on the hill, and the roads to it are extremely steep. probably steeper than you have ever walked before or can imagine. probably a cab can take you close if you are not in great shape. but if you want to walk there from walking around other parts of the town, and you are not young, athletic, or older in good athletic shape, it may not be ideal for you. especially if you want to go out, and back, multiple times. there are normal steps next to the steep roads that you can use if you are fine to walk several levels of steps.

  • highly recommended ! – Anonymous from United Arab Emirates – September 17, 2022 (9/10)

    Balcony and the views 10/10!

What could be improved: hard to find parking nearby

  • Exceptional – Victoriya_per from Latvia – June 23, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Могу только дополнить, что было бы неплохо иметь шкафчики на втором этаже тоже, а так все было прекрасно.
