You’ve got this amazing little bakery about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early, and there’s a small grocery store right around the corner that stays open late (the owner speaks decent English, which helped). The walk to Metekhi Bridge takes maybe fifteen minutes, and from there you can easily reach all the main sights. I actually preferred walking through this residential area rather than staying right in the tourist zone – you get to see how locals actually live, kids playing in the courtyards, older folks sitting outside their buildings chatting. The hills can be a bit of a workout if you’re not used to walking on steep streets, but honestly, that’s just Tbilisi for you. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you want that perfect balance of being close to everything but still feeling like you’re experiencing the real city rather than just passing through it.
