First Impressions

When I first walked into City Star, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment hotel on the 12th floor of a residential building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places surprise you. The elevator ride up gives you a hint of what’s coming, and once you step inside, it’s clear this isn’t your typical cramped city accommodation. The space feels genuinely homey, which makes sense since it’s essentially a well-appointed flat that happens to welcome travelers.

Location & Neighborhood

Merab Kostava Street in Saburtalo — honestly, this area gets overlooked by a lot of tourists, but locals know it’s one of Tbilisi‘s most livable neighborhoods. You’re far enough from the tourist crowds in Old Town to feel like you’re actually experiencing the city, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you anywhere you want to go. The street itself is lined with cafes and small shops that cater to residents rather than visitors, which I actually prefer. There’s a grocery store practically next door, and the parking situation — which can be a nightmare elsewhere in the city — is sorted right on site.

The Space

The room setup works really well, especially if you’re staying more than a night or two. There’s a proper kitchen with everything you need to make breakfast or even a simple dinner, which honestly saves you money and gives you flexibility with your schedule. The living area doesn’t feel cramped, and the bedroom is separate enough that you can actually spread out. I mean, after days of walking around Tbilisi’s hills, having space to properly unpack and relax makes a real difference.

What Makes It Work

Here’s the thing about this four-star place — the owners actually respond quickly when you have questions, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. The building itself is modern enough that you get reliable wifi and hot water, but the real win is the view from the 12th floor. On clear days, you can see across the city, and there’s something satisfying about watching Tbilisi wake up in the morning from up there. The neighborhood stays quiet at night too, so you actually get decent sleep.

Why Guests Love It

Couples seem to really get what this place offers — there’s something about having your own space in a residential area that feels more intimate than a hotel corridor. You can grab wine from the local shop, cook something simple, and just exist without feeling like you’re performing tourism every minute. The location rating speaks for itself, but what the numbers don’t capture is how easy it makes everything else. You’re not fighting crowds to get in and out, you’re not dealing with lobby noise, and you can come and go as you please without anyone keeping track.

  Понравилось всё. Уютная, чистая квартира со всем необходимым для жизни. В реальности лучше, чем на фото. Декоративные мелочи создают дополнительный уют. Прекрасное постельное бельё. Удобная кровать. Стулья у барной стойки, вообще, шикарные!)) Хозяин позаботился даже о стиральном порошке. Любой вопрос решался быстро. Хозяин был всегда на связи.
  Такую квартиру смело могу рекомендовать своим друзьям.

  Квартира просто шикарная, просторная, вид с балкона великолепен. Можно идти гулять как пешком в разные стороны города, так и на транспорте.
  Кровать в спальне отлично подходит для отдыха, а диван немного подуставший.
  
  What could be improved: Сложности с парковкой, но это скорее общегородская ситуация, не связанная с данной квартирой.
  Хозяин оказался немного душным. Мы приехали поздно и не было размена налички. Хозяин согласился, что я доплачу 4 лари из 214 на следующий день, при этом 210 я положил в сейф. А к обеду начал требовать полную сумму, когда мы гуляли и обвинять в несоблюдении правил. Но в итоге так и не забрал всю сумму пока мы не уехали
  В квартире не было туалетных принадлежностей (гель, шампунь), а на кухне средства для мытья посуды

  Very good location, comfotrable flat, fantastic wiev from balcony, well equipped kitchen, washing machine. Very nice apartmens for 2 persons. The host was helpful. Shops and eateries nearby.

  Location is safe. The building is located behind the police station.
  Free public gated-parking, as long as not fully occupied.
  The wash room has a bidet.
  The host is very accommodating and responsive.

  I booked the apartment for a few days for my parents who were visiting. The apartment is very clean and neat. The space is thoughtfully organised. There’s everything you’ll need: towels and other essentials are provided. It’s an apartment at a central location and for a fair price. Metro, shops, etc are at a walking distance. Koba, the host, is great at communication and helpful.

  I liked the apartment itself, it’s spacious and clean, well equipped (everything you need you will have). The location is great, close to the center but still not noisy.
  
  What could be improved: I didn’t like the fact that I had to persuade the host about our checkout at 4pm, despite the fact that due to Force Majeure we checked in 1 day later, still paying for all days we initially booked. Not pleasant situation and host’s behavior. In Georgia now money goes first 😅, not decency.
