Boutique Hotel Calligraphy Overview
I walked into the charming Boutique Hotel Calligraphy on 3 Vertskhli Street, Tbilisi, and was immediately wrapped in the warm, almost nostalgic vibe of the city. The lobby feels like a cozy attic in the old town—soft linen curtains, a hand‑painted mural of the Mtkvari river, and that faint scent of fresh coffee that drifts from the café corner. After a quick but friendly check‑in (the desk lady, Nino, made me feel at home in just a few minutes even though it was a bit of a rush on a Saturday), I was shown to a room that looks out over the bustling Rustaveli Avenue. The view is nothing flashy, but you can see the hints of ancient stone façades, the lazy traffic of a Georgian bus, and the occasional street performer playing a duduk. The bed itself—plush, with a quilt that looks like a piece of art—makes you want to stay in forever, but I do appreciate the fact that the mattress is not too firm, which is a relief after a day of long walks.
Speaking of walks, the hotel’s location is a sweet spot for both the adventure seeker and the cultural enthusiast. You’re practically steps away from the historic sulfur baths—just a 5‑minute stroll to the bathhouse complex on Gergeti Street. If you’re in the mood for something quieter, head to the nearby Tbilisi Botanical Garden or take a short metro ride to the Mtatsminda Park, where the panoramic view of the city is a treat at sunset. The hotel itself doesn’t have its own parking lot, but there’s a small paid parking garage just a block away on Nino Burjanadze Street; just remember to grab your parking ticket before you walk in because the attendants are busy and the lines can get long during the peak tourist season. Noise-wise, I found the mornings to be pleasantly quiet—there’s a soft hum from the street, but nobody gets too loud until after 10 a.m. in the late afternoon, when the cafés open and the fresh-bread smell starts to mingle with the scent of jasmine that’s grown in the balcony garden.
One thing that impressed me, honestly, was the attention to detail in the bathrooms. They’re not overly expensive, but the fixtures are high quality, the water pressure is strong, and there’s a small plant that gives the space a touch of greenery. The shower is a bit cramped—maybe a few extra inches would be nice—but the tiles are cool and the lighting is warm, which is perfect after a day in the sun. The hotel staff is generally friendly, but I did notice that the front desk can be a bit slow during the busy spring and autumn months, so if you’re traveling during those times, it’s best to have your keys ready in advance. As for the cost, it’s a bit on the higher side for a 4‑star boutique in Tbilisi, but the quality of service and the charm of the location more than make up for it. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a secret hideaway in the heart of the city, Boutique Hotel Calligraphy is a solid pick—you’ll feel like you’re part of the city’s rhythm, not just a tourist passing through.
Best hotels in Tbilisi range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town to elegant hillside hotels with stunning views of the Mtkvari River and Narikala Fortress.

Reviews of Boutique Hotel Calligraphy
Comfortable hotel in the heart of Tbilisi – Jonilaserson from Israel – September 2, 2025 (9/10)
The bed was comfortable. Superb location. The room was standard, decent size. The AC worked well. The staff was responsive and solved all issues.
What could be improved: No view from the room's window. The bed had a reading lamp only on one side (which happened to be not mine).Wonderful – Alessia from Italy – August 23, 2025 (9/10)
Great central location, but in a quiet spot so we could sleep with the windows open and it was really comfortable for me that I could just walk back to the hotel in the hottest hours. Clean and big room, comfortable bed, nice cotton linen. Friendly and always available staff. We didn't use the terrace or the breakfast
Very comfortable stay with excellent service. The staff of the hotel are professional, courteous, and provide a five sta – Dimitrios from Greece – August 23, 2025 (10/10)
The location of the property is excellent right in the downtown area and the design of the hotel is beautiful!

Wonderful – David from Armenia – August 20, 2025 (9/10)
The hotel was very nice, everything was clean. Throughout all of Tbilisi, there was no place with smiling staff—everyone was sad and unfriendly. If there was one place where people greeted you with a smile, it was this hotel, and that was thanks to Inola. Thank you, Inola!
Very nice stay at a truly boutique hotel – Sashank from United Kingdom – August 17, 2025 (10/10)
This is a nice hotel which is located centrally, but still felt really calm and quiet. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, especially the people working during the nights. I stayed there for 3 nights in separate stays and enjoyed my stay there. I would definitely stay there again.
What could be improved: There were some minor niggles like on restocking of hand-wash, shampoo and coffee, but these were fixed promptly. I would put this as part of the learning curve of a new hotel.Cozy, clean, and modern hotel in the heart of Old Tbilisi on a quiet side street. – Matt from United States – August 10, 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is on a quiet side street in the center of Old Tbilisi, just a few steps away from shops and restaurants, but not on the main drag which can be noisy. The rooms are clean, modern, and cozy. I would definitely stay here again!
What could be improved: The breakfast is fine but not fantastic; some items are occasionally missing.Exceptional – Giorgi from United States – August 9, 2025 (10/10)
Comfortable, gayane at reception was very respectfull, proffesional and kind person and emploeye! Thanks to her
Wonderful – Patrick from Netherlands – August 8, 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, good location, good airco, very nice balcony!
What could be improved: Female staff was very friendly, male staff member was quite unhelpful and unfriendly. We asked him to put up a missing curtain, which he finally did, but not in any normal customer friendly way.Wonderful – Meri from Armenia – August 7, 2025 (9/10)
It was clean, cosy and comfortable
What could be improved: The property wrote on Booking that the guests would have parking space, even private, we wrote them in case but received no answer about that. So during the check in we got no parking space at all.
