BFG Suites Leselidze Overview

I landed in Tbilisi after a long haul, feeling the buzz of the city already before my feet touched the ground. The BFG Suites Leselidze, tucked into Anton Katalikosi Street, isn’t in the most famous district, but it’s close enough to the city’s pulse that you can hear the morning rush of buses and the distant clatter of the old tram line on Rustaveli Avenue. The lobby greeted me with a subtle blend of modern chic and Georgian hospitality—warm lighting, a small hand-painted mural of the Mtskheta river, and a coffee bar that actually offers Georgian brews in addition to the usual espresso. I was pleasantly surprised by how the staff remembered my name halfway through the check‑in process—“Welcome back, Aram!”—and handed me a keycard that looked like a piece of art.

The room itself is a neat mix of space and comfort. The bed’s memory foam mattress feels like a hug, and the blackout curtains are thick enough to mute the city’s night hum, which is great if you’re a light sleeper. The bathroom is surprisingly compact but functional: a glass shower door that lets you see the steamy mist, a decent-sized mirror, and fresh towels that smell like clean cotton. I noticed a small, built‑in speaker that plays local music on a rotating playlist—Khrule’s jazz or the folk choir from the nearby cultural center—providing a very local soundtrack to my evenings. The room’s view? Not the speckled skyline but the subtle glow of streetlamps filtering through the trees of the adjacent park, a peaceful contrast to the city’s neon.

Parking is a bit of a puzzle. The hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but there’s a small municipal parking lot just a block away, with a nominal fee that’s fair for the area. If you prefer to walk, you’ll find that the streets around Anton Katalikosi are pedestrian-friendly, with a mix of modern cafés and the old Soviet‑era kiosks that still sell fresh citrus and local honey. I spent a rainy Saturday morning at a nearby café called ‘Sofia,’ sipping a strong, slightly bitter Georgian coffee while watching the city’s traffic slow down for the daily market that stalls out onto the street. The smells of roasted chestnuts and fresh bread mingled with the distant hum of the city—an odd but delightful soundtrack.

The hotel’s check‑in process is straightforward, but I did notice that the front desk can get a bit busy around 3 p.m. when tourists heading to the Old Town gather. If you’re arriving in the early afternoon, it’s worth arriving a bit earlier to avoid the queue. The staff were friendly and offered a quick tour of the local area, pointing out the best spots for a late‑night snack—like the small, tucked‑away burger joint on the corner of Kote Abkhazi Street, known for its spicy pepperoni.

Nighttime is generally calm, especially around 10 p.m. when most locals are winding down. The only disturbance comes from the occasional late‑night traffic and the faint sound of city sirens, but it’s hardly a problem. The hotel’s quiet hours are respected, and the noise from the street is muffled by the building’s thick walls. I appreciated the lack of a gym or spa—though if you’re looking for a workout, there’s a small indoor pool a few blocks away at the City Hall, but it’s a bit of a walk. The hotel does offer a small kitchenette in the room, which is handy if you like to prep a quick snack or pour a glass of the local Chianti.

Overall, BFG Suites Leselidze is a solid choice for travelers who want a comfortable base without the trappings of a large hotel chain.

A charming terrasse, two shower rooms and enough bedrooms for our whole group. Good internet-speed!
Wery helpfull and considerate host, good information and probelm-solving when the work in the streets caused stop in water supply for a few hours.

What could be improved: The lights in the kitchen area were not connected, it seemed the spots had just been installed, so the kitchen was too dark to cook at in the evening.
