ARAKI Sololaki Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to ARAKI Sololaki on Lado Asatiani Street, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Tbilisi. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the Sololaki district — honestly, one of the most charming neighborhoods in the Georgian capital. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, but once you step inside, you know the owners put serious thought into every detail.

The Sololaki Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally in the heart of old Tbilisi without being stuck in a tourist trap. Sololaki is where locals actually want to live, with its winding cobblestone streets and those iconic wooden balconies hanging overhead. You can walk to Rustaveli Avenue in about ten minutes, but you’re also close enough to the sulfur baths district that you’ll hear the call to prayer from the mosque mixing with church bells. It’s quintessentially Tbilisi, you know? Couples seem to get this — they consistently rate the location around 9.0, and I totally understand why.

Your Room Experience

The room at ARAKI strikes this perfect balance between modern comfort and Georgian character. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate, with local touches that actually mean something. The windows are generous — important in a city where the light changes dramatically throughout the day as it bounces off those terra cotta rooftops. What really impressed me was the attention to sound insulation; despite being in a lively neighborhood, nights are surprisingly peaceful.

Morning Rituals

The continental breakfast here isn’t trying to be everything to everyone, and that’s actually refreshing. They focus on quality Georgian bread (which, trust me, is incredible), local cheeses, and proper coffee. You’ll find some international options too, but honestly, this is your chance to ease into Georgian flavors if you haven’t already. The breakfast area has these large windows that let you watch the neighborhood wake up — street vendors setting up, locals heading to work, the whole daily rhythm of Sololaki unfolding below.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.1 rating, ARAKI Sololaki clearly gets something right that many hotels miss. I think it’s the authenticity factor — you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sanitized hotel district. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward that little wine bar tucked behind the puppet theater, or the best khachapuri spot that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing Tbilisi rather than just visiting it. Plus, the location score of 9.3 speaks for itself — you’re perfectly positioned to explore on foot, which in a city like Tbilisi, makes all the difference. The apartment-style layout of suites offers flexibility for longer stays, and the helpful staff can arrange local experiences that go beyond typical tourist offerings.

To book a hotel in Tbilisi during major Georgian celebrations, travelers need early planning as this ancient Silk Road capital draws visitors eager to experience its sulfur baths and traditional hospitality.

The room was very comfortable and the location is in the center of the old city – we could reach everything by walking there. It doesn't have a swimming pool or sauna, but it's not what i need when i travel. The staff was very useful and friendly.
