ARAKI Sololaki Overview
You know what caught me off guard about ARAKI Sololaki? I wasn’t expecting to find such a sophisticated little gem tucked away in one of Tbilisi‘s most atmospheric neighborhoods. I mean, Sololaki is already this wonderfully maze-like area where you’re constantly stumbling onto hidden courtyards and art nouveau balconies, but this place actually manages to feel special even in that context.
The thing about staying here is that you’re really living like a local – and I don’t mean that in some cheesy marketing way. You’ll wake up to the sounds of families chatting from their balconies (honestly, it’s quite charming once you get used to it), and you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from some of the city’s best wine bars and those tiny restaurants that don’t even have signs. The staff gets this too – they’re not trying to keep you in some tourist bubble. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the guy at reception started drawing me a little map to his grandmother’s favorite khachapuri spot. That’s the kind of place this is.
What really impressed me, though, is how they’ve managed the space. The rooms feel thoughtfully designed without being precious about it, and there’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get at four-star properties. The bathrooms are actually spacious (trust me, this matters after a long day of walking Tbilisi’s hills), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains – something I’ve learned to appreciate in a city where summer sunrises come early and streetlights can be surprisingly bright. The 9.1 rating honestly makes sense when you experience it. It’s not flashy luxury, but everything just… works. The WiFi is solid, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. Plus, and this might sound silly, but they have really good coffee in the morning. Not just decent hotel coffee – actually good coffee. Small thing, but it sets the tone for your whole day exploring the old town.
To book a hotel in Tbilisi during major Georgian celebrations, travelers need early planning as this ancient Silk Road capital draws visitors eager to experience its sulfur baths and traditional hospitality.

The room was very comfortable and the location is in the center of the old city – we could reach everything by walking there. It doesn't have a swimming pool or sauna, but it's not what i need when i travel. The staff was very useful and friendly.
