Apartment Tamarioni Overview

I’ve been in Tbilisi a few times now, and Apartment Tamarioni is one of those hidden gems that you only notice after you’ve lived there for a day or two. The building’s on Wine Rise, which is a quiet, tree‑lined block that makes you feel like you’re in a small village inside the city. When you walk up to the entrance, you’ll hear the faint clatter of a street vendor selling khinkali on the corner of Paliashvili Street, and the scent of roasting chestnuts drifting through the air. The lobby is surprisingly spacious, with a couple of comfy armchairs and a small flat‑screen TV that shows local news in Georgian—no need to Google the time zone again.

Check‑in was a breeze, honestly. The front desk guy was a friendly Georgian who spoke perfect English and had a joke ready about how the building’s elevator was “so old it sometimes pretends to be a stairwell.” He handed me a key card and a small booklet with a map of the neighborhood, pointing out the best coffee shop (Cafe Sioni) just two blocks over. I’ve heard the café’s cold brew is legendary, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Parking is a bit of a challenge because the street is narrow, but there’s a small underground lot right next to the building that’s free if you’re staying more than a week. It takes a few minutes to walk in, but the ride is worth it for the quiet.

The apartment itself is the real star. A two‑bedroom unit with a balcony that overlooks the old town skyline—think the Metekhi Church and the vibrant red roofs of the historic district. The furnishings are modern but not cold; the sofa is a deep, knitted texture that feels like a hug. The kitchen is surprisingly well‑equipped, with a small fridge, a full set of utensils, and a kettle that boils water in two minutes—perfect for a quick tea after a long day of exploring. I spent a quiet Sunday afternoon making a simple Georgian dish, and the aroma of fresh basil and tomato sauce filled the room. The noise level is decent, but you’ll hear the distant hum of traffic from the main avenue and the occasional chatter of neighbors from the building above—nothing intrusive.

One thing that stood out was how the building’s windows open up to a small courtyard with a fountain that runs during the day. It’s a nice spot for a mid‑morning coffee, and the light filtering through the leaves gives the whole space a dreamy feel. I did notice that the balcony’s railing is a bit on the low side, so you have to be careful when the balcony door opens in a wind gust. That’s a minor critique, but worth mentioning if you’re traveling with kids or pets.

Overall, Apartment Tamarioni feels like a local’s home rather than a typical hotel. The staff are friendly, the location is close to the city’s best spots without being too touristy, and the apartment’s vibe is relaxed and welcoming. If you’re planning a trip to Tbilisi, this place will give you a taste of everyday Georgian life while still offering the comforts you need after a day of sightseeing. Happy travels!

Reviews of Apartment Tamarioni

  • Very Good – Tova from Sweden – November 12, 2024 (8/10)

Good apartment, clean, very conveniently situated.

What could be improved: One wine glass more would be handy! 😄

  • Wonderful – Mishkevich from Latvia – October 18, 2024 (9/10)

Very nice nice place, my Apa

  • Wonderful – Anna from Poland – September 10, 2024 (9/10)

Great location, optimal to enjoy the city. Place was very clean and comfortable, as well as fully equipped. We've got the towels exchanged on 3rd day. Haven't tried the breakfast.

What could be improved: In order to get the keys we had to ask some guys on the street, lady standing on an upper balcony told us. A bit weird but it worked effectively. Couple of days towards the end of the stay we requested an airport transfer – first reply we got was positive but then our requests for confirmation of the time have not been answered (despite the offer provided upfront by the facility), so we had to organize the transportation ourselves. Communication could be little better, otherwise all good.

  • Good for short stay. – Orawan from Thailand – July 9, 2024 (8/10)

The location is great – very close to the Rike park. Rooms are very big.

What could be improved: They offers full facilities, but many things are broken. Some of them is easy to fix, but seem like they don't care.

  • Very Good – Hassan from Saudi Arabia – December 18, 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: Beautiful apartment, but it lacked a little attention, but the owner of the apartment was tall. He took a copy of the passport, and I asked him why. He said procedures.

  • SUPERB – Mary from Qatar – July 5, 2023 (9/10)

  • Very Good – Vladislav from Malta – June 14, 2023 (8/10)

The property is in a good location and quite spacious. All amenities worked as expected.

  • Shahid from United Arab Emirates – May 11, 2023 (8/10)

  • Wonderful – Alyssa from United Arab Emirates – April 24, 2023 (9/10)
