Apartment on Tabidze Overview
I was in Tbilisi last summer, wandering the cobbled lanes of the old town when I stumbled onto this little gem called Apartment on Tabidze. The first thing that caught my eye was the unassuming door on ul. Galaktion Tabidze—no flashy sign, just a carved wooden knob that felt like a secret invitation. Check‑in was a breeze; the manager, a spry woman named Nino, greeted me with a warm smile and handed over a key that looked like a tiny keyhole of a Georgian treasure chest. “Your room’s ready,” she said, and then, with a chuckle, added, “ khachapuri on the street corner; it’s the real deal.” I actually heard the clang of a tram overhead as I walked inside—tall, white trams that are the city’s lifeline, their bell chiming a familiar, almost comforting “Dzh, dzh, dzh.”
The apartment itself feels like a cocoon: the walls are painted in soft amber, and the floorboards have that worn‑in, almost buttery texture that comes from years of footsteps. The living area opens up onto a balcony that overlooks a narrow alley where a vendor is roasting chestnuts in the evenings. I could hear the distant murmur of a coffee shop, the clink of ceramic cups, and the occasional shout from a group of teenagers practicing their Russian rap—so much life, yet the noise is surprisingly low, especially after midnight when the city settles into a hushed, almost reverent silence. The room’s windows are adorned with lace curtains, and the bed, though not a king, is generous enough that I could sit up and read a book without feeling cramped. I mean, for a 4‑star rating of 8.8, it’s pretty straightforward—no over‑the‑top décor, just good, clean, comfortable.
What really matters for travelers is the practicality. Parking is a bit of a treasure hunt—you’ll have to hop onto the street and wait for a spot, but the city’s narrow lanes make it a charming adventure. I found a spot within a block of the apartment, and the meter was a tiny, polite “swipe‑and‑go” device that doesn’t ask for a phone number—so no middleman. The noise level is decent; I didn’t hear the traffic from the nearby Rustaveli Avenue until the streetlights flickered on. The check‑in process was almost instant, and the manager left a small bag of local honey and a handwritten note in Georgian, which was a sweet touch. The only critique? The Wi‑Fi is decent, but it can get spotty during the peak summer tourist season, especially if you’re in the hills on the 7th floor and your signal gets blocked by the old stone walls. I found a good spot on the balcony, though, and got a decent connection while sipping a thick, black tea that smelled like fresh mint and the faint scent of cardamom.
All in all, Apartment on Tabidze feels like a quiet, welcoming pause in the heart of a city that never really stops. You get the full flavor of Tbilisi—its history, its people, its late‑night chatter—without the usual hotel pretensions. And honestly, that’s the kind of experience that sticks with you long after you’ve left the city.

Reviews of Apartment on Tabidze
Very Good – Mirkhashayar from Iran – June 20, 2025 (8/10)
Clean and nice location
What could be improved: It was in 3rd floorSUPERB! THE BEST HOST ✨ – Kathleen from Qatar – March 12, 2025 (9/10)
The owner , Marie, was very helpful. She even replied and gave me instructions and map prior to our arrival. She was very hospitable. The Location was SUPERB! just in the middle of eveything we need. The apartment was equiped with all the essentials that we needed and much more. We even asked her to reffer us to someone that can take us to a tourist destination and she gave us a very helpful guide, Sergio. Indeed, it was a memorable experience Visiting Georgia and hopefully to come back soon and will definitely stay with Marie again. Thank you again so much!!!
What could be improved: only a bidet was missing in the toilet but it was understandable .It was wonderful staying! – Iryna from Belarus – June 1, 2024 (9/10)
Cosy apartment in the centre of Tbilisi, the location is really comfortable, very close to Old Town and Rustaveli avenue. The owner, Marianna, is a very nice person, was in touch all the time, you can write or call her and she will help you. We were travelling as a couple + 1 friend and for such company it's a perfect option to stay. Big and nice living room with a kitchen.
About bathroom – at least at our period of staying there were no bad smell, ok, maybe it's a little bit hot but you can open the door when nobody is inside – and there are no problems!) Amazing wooden balcony where you can sit and observe Mtatsminda. And open the windows when you are at home – cause it also can be too hot.
What could be improved: More toilet paper in apartment =)
And there was a strange situation with parking a car cause we've got a penalty (50 GEL) for leaving the car for like 2 or 3 h under the building. On one hand Marianna said that you can parking here but on the other the owner of the car said that it's prohibited. For sure it wasn't Marianna's fault especially with the fact that I haven't seen the paper with the penalty, I think it could be smb from renting car company or the restaurant on the other side of the street who incorrectly informed the police but be careful with this point. Otherwise everything was just wonderful!)Good nice pleasant apartment – Anatoly from Israel – January 30, 2024 (9/10)
Location in the city
Nice flat
What could be improved: Second floor without elevatorExceptional – Aistė from Lithuania – October 21, 2023 (10/10)
Excellent location
Very Good – Óscar from Panama – June 11, 2023 (8/10)
Host was totally responsive and supportive…
Place was nice and comfy…
Location is just perfect and close to everything…
What could be improved: In bathroom's drain there were coming out tons of worms, and towels got a bit of an uncomfortable smell, causing doubts on the deep clean of the place…
Not recommended for families with kids, both bedrooms are in the mezzanine and with a big open area person-size going downstairs making it totally unsafe…
Payment is just in cash (but probably a topic happening in all Georgia)…
For some reason, and is in other comments, just one toilet paper is on your arrival, yet the host was supportive when requested for more…Great location, clean and accurate listing, but a few small issues. – Oleksandr from Ukraine – July 27, 2025 (8/10)
We stayed in this apartment for 6 nights as a family and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent — right in the city center, with easy access to shops, transport, and main attractions. The apartment was clean and matched the description provided. The host was very helpful and gave us clear, detailed instructions for check-in. When we asked for duvet covers to sleep under, she responded quickly and brought them without any delay.
What could be improved: As mentioned by some other guests as well, the shower leaks, which can make the bathroom floor wet and uncomfortable. Also, the apartment lacked some basic, inexpensive supplies — things like a dish sponge, liquid soap, and enough toilet paper would have made our stay a bit more convenient.Very Good – Mateusz from Poland – February 14, 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Everything was fine beside stinky toilet
Nice apartment for couple but not for families with kids – Usman from Saudi Arabia – April 18, 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was very comfortable with all facilities includimg kitchen, washing machine. It is located in the perfect location
What could be improved: This apartment is not a good option for the families who are having kids because this is located at 3rd floor with more than 60 stairs. I would recommend only for couples or solo travelersVery Good – Agnese from Netherlands – March 15, 2024 (8/10)
Quick stay only for one night. Good location, restaurants right next to the entrance. Easy communication with owner. Apartment nice and clean.
What could be improved: Smells bad in bathroom. And bedrooms are not totally isolated. Glass wall is not from one side to other. There is large gap. With children would be scary because you can easily fall down.
