I just came back from a stay at the Apartment Near Orbeliani Bazari in Tbilisi, and honestly, it’s one of those hidden gems that feels like a secret you’re sharing with your best friend. The building itself is a modest two‑story block on Atoneli Street, right where the old metro line meets the modern bustle of Mtatsminda. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I could hear the faint rumble of the funicular, a soundtrack that gives the whole area a distinct, almost nostalgic vibe. The check‑in was quick—no long lines, just a friendly host who handed me a keycard and a map with a few handwritten notes about the best nearby cafés (the one with the burnt‑to‑black coffee is actually the best, don’t let the name fool you). Parking is a breeze; there’s a shallow parking lot on the ground floor that’s free for guests, so I didn’t have to scramble for a spot like in many other city hotels.

The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for a city apartment, with a bright living area that opens onto a tiny balcony overlooking the winding streets below. The décor is a quirky mix of Georgian ceramics and contemporary art—real local flair. I liked that the kitchen was fully equipped; I made a quick breakfast of khachapuri and a cup of black tea, and the aroma of fresh bread wafted through the room, almost like a warm hug. The noise level is pretty decent, though late evenings can be noisy if you’re close to the main street—though that’s just the city life, you know what I mean? The beds are firm but comfy, and the linens feel like a soft cloud that’s also slightly scratchy, which I guess is just the local fabric. I did notice that the Wi‑Fi speed slows down during the peak tourist season, so if you’re into streaming, plan accordingly.

What really made this place stand out was the sense of community. I ran into a couple of locals who were staying in the same building and were happy to recommend the best spots for cheap wine and traditional Georgian desserts. The apartment is right next to the Orbeliani Bazaar, where you can grab a quick bite of “khinkali” from a stall that smells like fresh dough and spices. In the mornings, you’ll hear the market bustle and see vendors selling everything from handmade scarves to fresh apples. It’s a true slice of everyday Tbilisi—no tourist traps, no overpriced souvenirs. The only critique is that the bathroom feels a bit outdated; the shower doesn’t have a full‑coverage head, and the tiles are a bit worn, but honestly, it doesn’t detract from the overall charm. If you’re visiting in the spring or early autumn, the weather is mild and the streets are lively yet not too crowded. All in all, I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic, local experience without the fuss of a typical hotel.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Tbilisi at least two months ahead for major events like wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near cultural attractions.

  I love everything about this house. The host is super nice and helpful in many ways. Instructions are shared clearly by the host. The location of this house is quite strategic, everything is within walking distance. The house is clean. I totally recommend other people to stay here. If i am revisiting Tbilisi again, i would happily rebooked this house again.

  Exceptional host! Thank you so much! Loved the apartment. It exceeded our expectations, However…. I have to mention that the neighbours are the most rudest people I've ever experienced in my entire life of travels. Out of all the 41 countries I visited, I NEVER experienced such blatant rudeness and racism. As a south African, that's illegal…… And you can go to jail for such behavior.
  HOWEVER, the apartment is amazing and the host was excellent!

  What could be improved: The Appartement was alright, the reason for the one Star review simply is the very unfriendly Attitude of the host (I can only speak about our Personal experience Here) and the fact that on booking.com you can book an option for an extra 10ish Euros which apparently includes Airport Transfer and a bottle of wine. CAUTION: This is a scam! There is No Airport Transfer or bottle of wine for free even though you pay for it. When trying to communicate this to the host (I mean we actually paid extra money for a service that simply doesnt exist) she insisted on the full amount to be paid and blamed the problem as  a problem between the guest and booking.com, which It Is Not since it is her Advertisement on Booking that is misleading. And it didnt annoy us most that we paid 10 Euros extra for a service that doesnt exist but it was the disrespectful way that Lady insisted on the full amount to be paid even though It included fees for a Service Not Provided. A simple sorry from her Side for the confusion would have really helped us but we felt really offended by the fact that she pretended the whole Problem Had nothing to do with her. We dont think that any guest should be treated Like this. Therefore we would Not recommend to stay Here.

  Квартира находится в самом центре города, очень уютная комфортная. В квартире есть всё необходимое внизу один кондиционер вверху два кондиционера. Великолепный балкончик – лестница на ней можно сидеть по утрам пить кофе. Отдельная благодарность хозяйки, провела нас по видео WhatsApp до самой квартиры, разрешила заехать раньше срока указанного в Booking.
