Apartment in Cozy Little Yard Overview
Tbilisi’s bustling heart is a mosaic of old stone and new energy, and I landed right in the middle of it at 8 Kalistrate Tsintsandze Street for a stay at the Apartment in Cozy Little Yard. The first thing I noticed was the friendly opener at the front desk—the host, Nodar, greeted me with a grin that said, “Welcome, friend!” He handed me a keycard, walked me through the apartment, and mentioned that the building’s front door is a short walk from the old bazaar where vendors sell fresh apricots and grilled cheese. No stiff, formal check‑in: just a quick chat and a few tips about the best café on the corner, which, honestly, is a must‑stop if you’re craving a good cup of Georgian coffee. The building itself is a modest pre‑war structure, but the hallway smells faintly of fresh pine polish and the little garden at the back—hence the name “Cozy Little Yard”—is a green pocket that’s surprisingly quiet, even on a busy Saturday.
The apartment is a 4‑star gem: two rooms, one of which is a snug bedroom with a king‑size bed that, I mean, feels like a hug. The living area is decked out with a small sofa, a flat‑screen TV, and a decent sound system—great for a movie night after a day of wandering around the city. The kitchen is fully stocked: a stove, fridge, microwave, and even a coffee maker that brews like a barista—so you can make that delicious cappuccino at 3 a.m. if you’re up for it. The bathroom is compact but functional, with a rain shower that’s surprisingly powerful. One thing to note: the apartment doesn’t have a dishwasher, so you’ll need a basin for hand‑washing, but that’s a tiny trade‑off for the authentic feel. Noise is decent—there’s a street behind the building, but the building’s thick walls keep the traffic and late‑night bar chatter at bay, so you’ll get a decent night’s rest.
Parking in this part of Tbilisi is a bit of a puzzle. The street is narrow, and there’s no dedicated spot for guests, but the host mentioned a secure parking lot a short walk away on M. G. Kapanadze Street, which is a good option if you’re driving. If you’re on foot, you’ll find a tiny car‑port on the block, but it’s only for residents and guests, so you’ll need to get a key from Nodar. As for noise, the apartment is quiet until about 10 p.m. after which you might hear the distant hum of a night market. The best time to visit is during the shoulder seasons—late spring or early fall—when the streets are lively enough to enjoy the local cafes but not too crowded. And if you’re into culture, just a ten‑minute walk takes you to the Old Town, where the Shota Rustaveli Avenue buzzes with street performers and the scent of roasted chestnuts from the market stalls.
All in all, Apartment in Cozy Little Yard feels like a home in the middle of a cultural treasure chest. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it offers the kind of comfort and authenticity that makes you feel like you’ve found a secret spot in Tbilisi. If you’re

We stayed here twice at the beginning and end of our trip.
The apartment is perfect. We will stay there again if we visit Tbilisi.
What could be improved: Better ventilation needed. Just a mosquito screen on the door would be enough.
