Apartamenti Gomi 17 Overview

I found myself in Tbilisi after a late night flight, and the first thing that hit me was the scent of fresh coffee from a tiny kiosk on Gomi Str.17, right at the hotel’s doorstep. The check‑in was surprisingly quick – the front desk guy, a young Georgian with a warm smile, handed me a keycard and a handwritten note that said, “Enjoy your stay, and let me know if you need anything.” He didn’t even bother to ask about my luggage, which was a relief after carrying a backpack through the airport. The lobby itself, though no grand ballroom, had a cozy vibe; a small potted plant by the desk, a few local art pieces, and a calendar that actually had the Georgian holidays marked in bold. (Honestly, the little details like that make you feel like you’re already home.)

When I stepped into my room, the light from the wide windows painted a soft, amber glow over the minimalist décor. The bed was surprisingly plush – you could feel the memory foam settling into your shape the moment you lay down. The kitchenette was stocked with a kettle, two mugs, and some bottled water; the kettle even had a built‑in temperature display, which is a little lux that feels like a thoughtful touch. I made a cup of tea, and the steam curled up in a way that reminded me of the old cafés on Rustaveli Avenue. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, with a rain shower – and the water pressure was spot on. The only downside was the slightly squeaky floorboards that echoed every step, a small but audible reminder that the building is a few decades old. Noise-wise, the street is lively, but by 11 pm it’s quiet enough to hear the distant hum of a tram. Parking is a bit of a hassle – there’s no dedicated lot, so you either have to find street parking a few minutes away or pay for a nearby paid lot, but the staff at the front desk can point you in the right direction.

Outside, the neighborhood feels like a living postcard. Gomi Str.17 is a short walk from Metekhi Church, where you can catch a glimpse of the Mtkvari River and the old city’s rooftops. I took a morning stroll to the nearby “Sheni” café, where the owner, a friendly woman named Nino, recommended their signature khachapuri – a buttery, cheese‑filled bread that melts in your mouth. (You know what, the smell of fresh dough still lingers in my memory.) For a more authentic experience, I took a taxi to Freedom Square where the fountains and the historic Parliament building provide a perfect backdrop for a photo. The locals here are friendly,

The apartment lies on the hillside which has a good sight of the city. It is a flavorful place to live in. It’s a little difficult to find the place at first, but actually its location is not bad, 5-8minutes’ walk from the Bridge of peace, 3-5minutes’ walk from the Metekhi Bridge, 1minutes’ walk to the Freedom Square. All in all, it’s a peaceful and beautiful place to live in.(there are even lovely cats in the garden)
