Apartament old city Overview
I recently stayed at Apartament old city in Tbilisi, and honestly, it was one of those moments when you realize how easy it is to get lost in a city that feels both ancient and alive. The building sits on 25/5 Shota Ninisianidze Street, right where the cobblestones meet the faint scent of fresh khinkali baking in the nearby market stalls. The first thing you notice is the warm, slightly creaking wood door—it’s like the old guard of the city, welcoming you into a space that feels like a private home more than a hotel. The lobby was small, with a single desk where the receptionist, a cheerful woman named Nino, greeted you with a smile and a quick lesson in Georgian: “Gamarjoba!” (hello). She handed you a keycard that, surprisingly, worked like a charm even though the building’s age made me wonder if it’d still be functional. The check‑in was quick, but you could feel the buzz of the city just outside the door—screeching cars, the distant clink of glasses from a tavern, and the occasional shout from a street vendor selling roasted chestnuts.
The rooms themselves are a blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. The walls are plastered in a muted beige, and the furnishings are a mix of vintage Georgian pieces and contemporary comforts. I stayed in a double room that had a balcony overlooking the old town square. The balcony became my personal observatory for the city’s nightlife—at night, the lights of the Bridge of Peace reflected on the Arsenali River, and the air carried a faint hint of incense from a nearby church. The bed was surprisingly plush, and the linens were crisp—almost a luxury in a place where you’d expect rougher textures. On the downside, the Wi‑Fi was a bit flaky, especially during the peak tourist season when everyone’s smartphones were competing for bandwidth. But honestly, who needs a steady connection when you’re surrounded by the aroma of fresh bread and the chatter of locals? The bathroom was clean, with a deep soaking tub that felt like a small oasis after a long day of exploring. I found a small, handwritten note from the previous guest, a kind reminder to leave a tip for the housekeeper—such little touches make you feel part of the community.
Parking and noise are the two practical things that really stood out. There’s a narrow street parking spot right outside the building, and while it’s a bit of a tight squeeze, it’s free—no need to hunt for parking in the city’s maze of alleys. The apartment’s location means you’re never far from anything: a quick 10‑minute stroll takes you to the Old Town’s main square, and a 15‑minute walk brings you to the famous Metekhi Church or the ancient fortress at Mtatsminda. I found that the traffic noise is minimal during the early mornings and late evenings—though the city does come alive at night, and you can hear the clamor of taxis, the soft hum of a bus, and the occasional shout from a night‑time café. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs, but for me, the sounds of the city felt like a comforting lullaby.
What I loved most about Apartament old city was how it felt like a hidden gem, tucked away in a neighborhood that locals frequent. The next day, while sipping a strong Georgian coffee at a corner café, I chatted with a vendor who told me that the building used to be a guesthouse in the 1920s—rich history that you can almost feel in the worn wooden panels. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering me street‑wise tips like the best time to visit the Sulphur Baths or where to find the most authentic khachapuri. And when I asked about the local markets, they directed me to the nearby Shardeni Market, where you can buy fresh produce and handmade crafts. The overall vibe is genuine—no high‑end marketing fluff, just honest, personal service that makes you feel like you’re staying in a friend’s apartment rather than a hotel. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve packed your bags, echoing the layered history of the city itself.
To book hotel in Tbilisi during the famous Tbilisi Jazz Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts wine enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Reviews of Apartament old city
Wonderful – Fabrizio from Italy – May 5, 2025 (9/10)
Perfect location. Fully equipped apartment. Great value. You won't find anything better than this for the price.
What could be improved: Old apartment. The bathroom is very small. The bedroom and the bathroom have no windows. The main door sometimes is hard to open and close. There is no tumble dryer.Exceptional – Muhammad from Pakistan – April 17, 2025 (10/10)
We had a fantastic stay in Old Tbilisi! The location is truly unique—right in the heart of everything. Most of the city’s major attractions were just a short walk away: the Clock Tower, Bridge of Peace, the statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the Berlin Wall Memorial, Isani Fortress, Queen Darejan Palace, Liberty Square, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Mother of Georgia, and many more.
What made our stay even more special was the incredible hospitality. The hostess was extremely kind and attentive, always checking in to see if we needed anything. She was so relaxed and trusting—she didn’t even ask about the rent until we checked out!
The place itself is cozy, small but very well-equipped and thoughtfully organized. We felt right at home and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We definitely wish to come back again and again, and we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Tbilisi!great option in the city center – Удовенко from Germany – April 3, 2025 (10/10)

Exceptional – Simay from Turkey – November 15, 2024 (10/10)
The house is perfectly located in the city center, with everything within walking distance. There's no need for constant transportation. It's very close to the Gabriadze Theater and surrounded by cafes and shops. The house is clean and well-maintained, offering a welcoming and comfortable environment. While it is compact in size, it is thoughtfully designed and equipped with everything needed for a pleasant and convenient stay. However, there is only one window, which limits natural sunlight inside, but this is not a big problem. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly, for which I am very grateful. She accommodated our late check-in without any issues.
