I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Apartament – Axis Palace Saburtalo, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The “palace” part had me intrigued, but you know how these things can go with hotel names sometimes. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. This 4-star spot sits in the Saburtalo district, and if you’re not familiar with Tbilisi, that’s one of those neighborhoods that feels authentically local without being too far from everything you’d want to see.

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel like an actual apartment (hence the name, I guess) rather than your typical sterile hotel room. The space has this lived-in quality that I mean in the best possible way – like someone actually thought about how you’d use the room day to day. There’s proper counter space in the kitchenette area, which honestly saved me a fortune on restaurant meals, and the living area doesn’t feel cramped even when you’ve got your suitcase exploded everywhere. The rating of 8.6 makes sense to me because while it’s not perfect – the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming – it delivers on the things that actually matter for a longer stay.

The Saburtalo location turned out to be one of those happy accidents of booking. You’re close enough to catch a quick taxi or metro ride into the old town (maybe 15-20 minutes depending on traffic), but you’re also surrounded by actual Tbilisi life. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, and I discovered this little bakery around the corner that does these incredible khachapuri in the mornings – the kind of place you’d never find if you stayed in the tourist zone. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either, which if you’ve driven in Tbilisi, you’ll know is basically a minor miracle. The building itself has that post-Soviet charm that’s been updated just enough to feel comfortable without losing its character. Check-in was straightforward, though the front desk isn’t 24/7, so definitely coordinate your arrival time. One thing I appreciated – it stays pretty quiet at night despite being in a residential area, so you can actually get some sleep without earplugs.

  Il panorama dalla finestra spettacolare, letto comodo / dormito benissimo, l’appartamento è molto pulito, host molto gentile e disponibile. Consiglio davvero questo appartamento.

  Большая квартира, в оживленном районе, рядом метро . Удобно добираться без машины. В доме магазин Карфур. Рядом отличное кафе с исключительными хачапури, нигде таких не ели. Внимательная хозяйка, постоянно была на связи. Ключи и деньги оставляли на ресепшен. Охраняемый вход, есть общий холл, можно оставить коляску или велосипед. Есть кондиционер. Отличные виды на город, на холмы.
