Apart-hotel TARHUN Overview

I found myself in Tbilisi after a long flight, and the first thing that hit me was the way the city’s old charm blends with a sudden burst of modern flair. Stumbling onto 6 Vaso Abashidze Dead End, I was greeted by a façade that looks like an apartment block but feels like a secret hide‑out. The lobby is a mix of exposed brick and reclaimed wood, and the staff—cheerful, a little too eager to talk about the city’s culinary scene—made the check‑in feel more like a conversation than a transaction. They don’t have a fancy concierge desk, but the front desk is 24/7, and they’ll happily drop you off a map that’s actually useful (you know, with the best spots for cheap wine and street food). Parking is a bit of a quest: there’s a small paid lot on the corner of Mtatsminda, and a few streets over you can find free street parking if you’re patient. I parked in a neat spot on the block, and the noise from the city—cars, the occasional church bell—was muffled enough that I could actually hear the distant calls of street vendors selling khinkali.

The rooms are the real charm, honestly. I’m talking about 4‑star standards with a twist: each one is a little apartment, fully furnished, and the windows look out over Mtatsminda’s hills, giving you a skyline that feels both intimate and vast. The bedding is plush, and the king‑size mattress tastes like a dream—soft, but supportive. I appreciated that there’s a small kitchenette with a kettle, a mini‑fridge, and a microwave, perfect for those late‑night cravings of a midnight dip of cheese and bread. The bathroom is surprisingly large, with a rain shower that feels like a spa. The only thing I’d tweak is the Wi‑Fi speed—sometimes it’s a little sluggish, but the service counter can boost the signal for a fee. And the noise level in the corridors? Decent, though the hallway lights flicker on and off sometimes, which can be a minor annoyance if you’re a light sleeper.

When you’re in this place, you’ll notice that the hotel is close to Mtatsminda Park, which is a great spot for a stroll at sunset. The Old City is just a 15‑minute walk away, and you can hop on a public bus that takes you straight to the Metekhi Church and the bustling Rustaveli Avenue. I took advantage of the central location to wander the streets with a coffee in hand, and the smell of fresh bread from the bakeries on the corner of Vasilashvili Street was just the thing you need to feel at home. There’s a small garden behind the building too—nice for a quick breather after a long day of sightseeing. The staff did a good job of answering my questions about local events; they even told me about a live music night in the nearby cafe that’s worth checking out. Overall, Apart‑hotel TARHUN is a solid 4‑star pad that feels like a local’s favorite spot, not a generic tourist trap. If you want a place that’s comfortable, practical, and gives you a real taste of Tbilisi’s everyday life, you’re in good shape here—just be prepared for a few small quirks that make it feel authentic rather than polished.

    We liked everything!

  • Exceptional – Laman from Azerbaijan – August 10, 2025 (10/10)

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. I especially want to thank the lady at the reception, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. She assisted me with everything I needed and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others

  • Exceptional stay! – Andrey from Russia – July 29, 2025 (10/10)

We spent a few days at this aparthotel and chose it based on the reviews — and we weren’t disappointed. Everything about the stay was perfect: a great central location, yet tucked away in a quiet courtyard. The host was extremely friendly and always available to help with anything we needed.

The apartment was spacious, cozy, and came with a balcony. The beds and linens were very comfortable — we slept wonderfully. There was a good air conditioner, and we loved the large rooftop terrace with board games and more.

Overall, the place has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be coming back!

  • Exceptional – Alexander from Switzerland – July 28, 2025 (10/10)

Wonderful friendly host trying to accommodate all requests

What could be improved: The area around the hotel is a bit run down

  • Exceptional – Melina from Greece – July 24, 2025 (10/10)

Everything was perfect! The best airbnb we ever stayed…
The place as it is in the center of the city, at the Opera with everything around. The owner, who was always at our disposal to help. And of course the room itself..Clean, they change sheets and towels every two days. They change even the sponge at the kitchen!! And very comfortable. The balcony we had the chance to have, offered us romantic nights with our glass of wine every night!!!

What could be improved: Nothing…!! Really, nothing!!

  • Amazing place! – Aleksandra from Netherlands – July 21, 2025 (10/10)

I liked everything about this place!
Great location: the location is amazing, it's close to the city centre and it's easy to get to ay place you like. At the same time it's a bit hidden, so it's very quite during the night.
Amazing host: Irina contacted us upfront to meet at the desk when we arrived to check us in, she was very friendly, showed us everything, gave the map with the main Tbilisi locations.
Room: we stayed in the room with balcony, it was really nice, cozy and super clean! It had everything needed for comfortable stay, not just to survive there, but really to enjoy your stay. It's clear that the hosts really care about you and respond to all your questions and asks. The hosts prepared the transport cards you could just take, board games, some other stuff you could just grab outside the room. The bed linen was also nice. I liked everything there!
Terrace: the place has a terrace on the rooftop, it's really a highlight! We spent a lot of time there enjoying the weather, looking at the city.

To sum up, it's just a great place with a soul! It's clear that the hosts are really care about their customers! We will definitely return there next time.

  • Comfort and convenient stay – T2016 from Japan – May 19, 2025 (9/10)

Hotel staff was very friendly and kind. The location was very convenient. Access to the nearest bus stop was only a few minutes away, small grocery shop was also 1 minutes away. Also Rustaveri metro station was walking distance.
It was very clean and they clean the room every 3 days which is sufficient for long stay.
They have a washing machine at the terrace where you can relax and enjoy at any time. I strongly recommend to stay this hotel.

What could be improved: The surroundings of the hotel was not modern but looks like insecurity area. in fact it was very safe but if you are not familiar with such area then you might feel uncomfortable.
