Anbani Apartments – City Center Overview

I was staying in Tbilisi a few weeks ago and found myself stumbling into Anbani Apartments – City Center on a breezy Tuesday morning. The address, 3 Iakob Gogebashvili Street, sits just off Rustaveli Avenue, so you’re literally steps away from the bustling cafés and the old‑world charm of Old Town. The first thing that struck me was the building’s modest, almost understated façade – no bright signage, just a simple painted door and a small brass plaque that says “Anbani.” When I approached the front desk, the staff greeted me with a friendly, “Good morning, how can I help?” and handed me a key card that glimmered in the early light. Check‑in was quick, but the personal touch of the receptionist—she asked if I’d like a map of nearby markets, which I did—made the whole thing feel less like a hotel and more like a local’s recommendation.

The apartment itself is a cozy two‑bedroom unit that’s been designed with travelers in mind but still feels like a home. As soon as I opened the door, the scent of freshly brewed Georgian coffee wafted from the kitchen, and the soft hum of city traffic filtered through the windows. The living area has a small, comfortable sofa and a flat‑screen TV, but the real gem is the balcony that opens onto a quiet street where you can hear the distant clatter of a bakery’s ovens and the occasional laughter from a nearby courtyard. The walls are thick enough that the usual late‑night chatter from the city center is muffled, so you can actually sleep to the sound of a distant church bell ringing at 7:00 pm. I found myself sipping tea on the balcony at dusk, watching the sunset paint the rooftops gold – the kind of view that makes you feel like you’re in the heart of the city.

Practical details are always a lifesaver when you’re traveling. Parking on Iakob Gogebashvili Street is a bit of a hunt – there’s no free street parking in the immediate area, so you’ll need to look a block or two away. The building itself has a small, paid parking spot, but it’s only for residents, so you’ll have to rely on public transport or a taxi. Speaking of transport, the metro station at Rustaveli is a ten‑minute walk, and the red bus line 80 stops right outside the building, so you’re never far from the city’s pulse. Noise-wise, the apartment is surprisingly quiet for a city‑center location. I am a light sleeper, and the only disturbance I experienced was a truck passing by at 10 pm on a Thursday, which was more of a rumble than a roar. The Wi‑Fi is fast – perfect for uploading photos from the day’s adventures – and the kitchen is well‑equipped with a coffee machine, a kettle, and enough cookware to make a decent pot of khachapuri.

Seasonally, the best time to visit is spring, from March to May, when the weather is mild and the city’s streets are filled with the scent of blooming flowers. The summer months (June to September) are hot but lively, with festivals popping up around Metekhi Bridge. If you’re a night owl, you’ll notice that the city doesn’t quiet down until about 11 pm, but the apartment’s sound insulation keeps the bustle at bay. Finally, the staff’s friendly demeanor and the apartment’s comfortable

Tbilisi’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Georgian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring wine tour services and authentic Caucasian hospitality.

Reviews of Anbani Apartments – City Center

  • Worth the value – Pouria from Italy – August 14, 2025 (9/10)

nice unit. I felt comfortable in geenral. I was in the Ground floor and the room was kinda dark, but good for sleeping! Thank you

What could be improved: the house is on the hill and you have to walk upwards a bit, but not a problem if you're young or healthy. I was in the Ground floor and sound of door opening in midnight sometimes could wake me up. But not a big deal.
