Ameri Plaza Tbilisi Overview

Honestly, I found myself wandering around the Tbilisi streets of Saburtalo after a long flight, and the first thing that struck me was how close the Ameri Plaza Tbilisi feels to the pulse of the city. The hotel sits on 76a Kostava street, a block that used to be quiet until the early morning coffee rush, but now it hums with commuters heading to the nearby Tbilisi Business Center. As soon as I walked in, the scent of fresh bakery bread drifted from the corner shop on Kostava, and I could hear the distant chatter from the café on Meidan street – it was a perfect soundtrack for a city that never sleeps. The lobby is surprisingly airy, with a mix of modern furnishings and a vintage Georgian rug that reminds me of my grandmother’s house in Mtskheta. The staff were friendly, and the check‑in was quick – just a couple of taps on a tablet, and I was handed a map with a personal note: “Enjoy your stay; let us know if you need anything.”

The rooms are cozy, with a neutral palette that feels like a neutral ground after a day of exploring. I slept well, which is not always guaranteed in a city where the night trains rumble, but the hotel’s soundproofing is decent, and the windows face away from the main road, so the only noises you hear are the occasional honk from a taxi or the faint wail of a bus. The bathroom is a bit small, but the shower has a good water pressure that makes the whole experience feel luxurious. I did notice that the Wi‑Fi was a bit slow during peak hours – I was working on a presentation, and it took a while to upload a few slides. But the complimentary coffee in the break room was top‑notch, especially the local Georgian sweet, auli, which is a sweet treat I hadn’t tasted before. The minibar was a bit overpriced, but they have a small selection of Georgian wines that I tried on a rainy afternoon – it was a great way to unwind.

One of the perks of staying here is the parking. I wasn’t sure if I’d find a spot, but the hotel offers free street parking for the first 30 minutes, and then a small fee after that – it’s actually more convenient than the paid lots in the city center. I also appreciated the quiet hours policy; staff would politely remind guests to keep noise down after 10 PM, so the apartment next door stayed serene. A highlight for me was the nearby Saburtalo Market, where I found fresh produce and a small tea shop that sells local herbal blends. The hotel also has a small rooftop terrace that is a hidden gem – you can watch the sunset over the city skyline, with the distant mountains of the Caucasus providing a dramatic backdrop. For travelers who love a good view, this is a must‑visit spot. Overall, Ameri Plaza Tbilisi offers a blend of comfort, convenience, and a taste of local life that makes it stand out in a city where most hotels feel impersonal.

Reviews of Ameri Plaza Tbilisi

  • -little bit expensive compared to other hotels in the area – Abdullah from Qatar – April 1, 2025 (9/10)

    -Nice hotel
    -Good location
    -Friendly and helpful staff

  • Very Good – Saleem from Israel – January 7, 2025 (8/10)

    Yes perfect

What could be improved: The last floor without elvator

  • Overall, the stay was nice, but there were easy actions that the hotel could take to make it better. – Fethi from France – January 5, 2025 (8/10)

    – Rooms are clean and with comfortable beds.
    – Very nice view from floor 14 and above.
    – Easy access to public transportations and city attractions.

What could be improved: – Hotel access is inconvenient for cars, as the entrance is at the back and the main gate is always closed. The front street is one-way, and cars can't stop in front due to the high-speed lane.
    – One room had no chair, and despite asking several times, it wasn’t provided.
    – One day, there were no towels, and another day, no water bottles. Both required multiple requests to resolve.
    – We couldn’t get a second key for our two rooms, even though we were six people. The staff said they ran out of cards due to high occupancy 🙁
    – During check-in, the receptionist insisted on knowing who would stay in each room, even though we were a family and hadn’t decided yet.
    – Staff communication could improve by simple gestures like smiling and being polite would go a long way. This applies especially to people in the breakfast! Asking directly for a room number without any smile or good morning was shocking for me!

  • Wonderful – Davit from Armenia – November 30, 2024 (9/10)
