You know what struck me first about Accommodation in the heart of Tbilisi? It’s one of those places where the name actually delivers on its promise – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think. I mean, we’ve all stayed at hotels that claim to be “in the heart” of somewhere only to find yourself taking three buses to see anything worthwhile. Not here though.

The location really is something special. You’re literally surrounded by the kind of Tbilisi that makes you understand why people fall head over heels for this city. Step outside and you’re maybe two minutes from the sulfur baths district – you can actually catch hints of that distinctive mineral smell on certain evenings, which sounds weird but is oddly comforting once you get used to it. The narrow cobblestone streets around here tell the whole story of Georgian history, and I found myself taking different routes back to the hotel each night just to stumble across another hidden courtyard or centuries-old balcony hanging over the street.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to maintain that intimate, residential feel despite being right in the thick of everything. The building itself has this lovely worn-in quality – not shabby, mind you, but lived-in in the best possible way. The rooms have these gorgeous high ceilings that keep things cool even in summer, and the windows are large enough that you get proper natural light streaming in during the day. I actually spent way more time than usual just hanging out in my room because it felt so comfortable. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out too – they gave me directions to this tiny family-run khinkali place that I never would have found on my own, tucked away down an alley that doesn’t even show up on Google Maps. Best dumplings I had during my entire stay, and that’s saying something in a city where khinkali is basically a religion.

The whole experience feels refreshingly unpretentious. There’s no marble lobby or doormen in fancy uniforms, but there’s also no pretending to be something it’s not. It’s just a really solid place to stay that happens to be perfectly positioned for exploring everything that makes Tbilisi magical. You’ll hear church bells in the morning, street musicians in the evening, and the general hum of a neighborhood that’s very much alive and going about its daily business. Check-in was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and – this might sound minor but it matters – the water pressure in the shower is excellent. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make or break a stay, you know?

  Much better than a hotel room. Very nicely decorated apartment, just superb taste! Very clean, with all utilities included.
  The host was very friendly and quick to respond to any of our questions. She was happy to help with a modification in our dates.
  The location is very central with many shops and restaurants around. We will definitely look for the same apartment on our next visit to Tbilisi.
