A p a r t m e n t AnnaMari O l d T b i l i s i Overview
I first heard about the place when I was strolling through Tbilisi‘s old town, the pavement under my feet still slick from that last drizzle. The hotel’s address—Lado Meskhishvili №37, Turn 1—feels like a secret corner you’d only discover if you followed the winding alley past the old bakery that still sells badarak. Once you step inside, the lobby smells faintly of cedar and fresh coffee, and the staff greets you with that warm Georgian hospitality that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a long‑lost friend. The check‑in is pretty smooth; the front desk clerk actually takes the time to ask if you’re visiting for a wedding or just a quick layover, and she hands you a little info packet with her handwritten notes on the best spots to catch a sunset over the Narikala Fortress. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt, though—there’s no dedicated lot, so you’ll need to weave through the narrow streets and maybe ask a local driver for a short-term spot. It’s worth the effort, because once you’re parked, the buzz of the city fades into a hushed, almost reverent silence, especially after midnight.
The rooms themselves are a mix of vintage charm and 21st‑century convenience, which is a weird but delightful combination. The bed—think plush, but with that kind of firm support that says you’ll wake up refreshed without the awkward sag of a hotel mattress—has a linen table that’s oddly spacious for a 4‑star room. The bathroom is a mini spa: the shower has that pressure you need to feel like you’re rinsing off all the city’s grit. The Wi‑Fi is decent, though if you’re a hardcore gamer you’ll notice a slight lag during peak hours. The only gripe I had was that the kitchenette’s tiny fridge is a bit of a space hog, so any extra snacks need to be stored elsewhere. But honestly, that’s a minor inconvenience compared to the overall vibe. The curtains are thick enough to block out the street noise even when the metro whistles by at 3 a.m., so you can actually get a good night’s sleep.
One of the things that really stuck with me was the aroma of fresh khachapuri drifting from the small bakery on the first floor. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the dough is buttery and slightly sweet, and the cheese is that melty, golden‑brown goo that makes you close your eyes and savor the moment. I tried the cheese version and then went to the garlic version for lunch, and each bite felt like a little celebration of Georgian flavor. The hotel also has a small rooftop terrace with a view of the city’s skyline at sunset, where you can sit in a worn-out chair, sip on a glass of red wine, and watch the sun dip behind the Mtatsminda Park hills. It’s the kind of place you’d linger at, chatting with a local barista about the best way to get to the Tbilisi Botanical Garden or how to navigate the best hidden cafés on the Mtkvari River. It’s easy to see why the rating is a solid 9.7—this spot feels like a well‑kept secret that’s just waiting to be shared with those who know how to listen to the city’s whispers.
Exploring Tbilisi offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Georgia’s cultural heart, from its ancient sulfur baths to its world-renowned wine traditions and stunning Caucasus mountain backdrop.

What could be improved: Liked it a lotExceptional – Sulaiman from India – November 9, 2024 (10/10)
It was a clean and very good option for family staying who plans to do their own cooking. There were some grocery stores and shops available nearby. And the metro station is close by. There are apps available for taxi and food delivery. They were cheap and good options to explore.
What could be improved: There are not many English speaking people. Still, they were friendly.Exceptional – Nani from Georgia – October 30, 2024 (10/10)
