1912 Heritage Charm Overview

I’ve just spent the weekend at 1912 Heritage Charm, and honestly, it’s one of those places that feels like a secret in the middle of the city. The building itself is a restored 1912 edifice—stone façade, a little crumbling at the corners, but the interior is a throwback to an era when Tbilisi was the crossroads of empires. The hotel is tucked into 7 Mikheili Tsinamdzghvrishvili Street, right next to the old market where you can still smell fresh khachapuri being baked at dawn. I found myself walking up the cobbled lane to the hotel and hearing the distant chatter of vendors selling dried apricots and smoked cheese. It’s a sensory feast that makes even the simplest breakfast feel special.

Check‑in was surprisingly smooth. The front desk staff greeted us with a warm smile and handed us a key that looked like a piece of art—engraved with a subtle Georgian motif. They handed over a map of the city, but the one that actually helped me was the one with the little handwritten note about the best time to visit the Old Town’s narrow alleys: early morning, before the crowds arrive. Parking is a bit of a hunt; there’s a small underground lot behind the building, but you have to ask the concierge for the key. You’ll also find the hotel’s rooftop terrace opens at sunset, and the view of the illuminated Narikala Fortress is nothing short of breathtaking—though the wind can be a bit windy, so bring a light jacket.

The rooms are a blend of old-world charm and modern convenience. I stayed in a double room with a balcony overlooking the city’s bustling market square. The bed was surprisingly comfortable—think plush cotton sheets and a mattress that actually remembers the shape of your body. The bathroom had a vintage clawfoot tub that looks like it belongs in a museum, but it’s actually functional and stays warm. The only real downside was the noise from the street at night, but the insulated windows did a decent job of keeping the traffic hiss at bay. I spent evenings in the hotel’s courtyard, sipping Georgian wine from a local vineyard while listening to a guitarist from the nearby music academy. The staff even invited us to a small dinner event where they served traditional khinkali, and the flavors were so authentic I could taste the story of their recipe passed down through generations. All in all, 1912 Heritage Charm feels like a lived-in storybook, and if you’re looking for a place that feels like a local secret rather than a polished tourist trap, this is it.

Tbilisi’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Georgian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring wine tour services and authentic Caucasian hospitality.

  • Our "home away from home" for 10 days in Tbilisi – Lani from United Kingdom – June 18, 2025 (10/10)

The place is very nice, clean, and comfortable . Its like home away from home with 2 bedrooms, spacious receiving area, homey kitchen with complete facilities, strong internet connection, and with cable TV … It is also very near to the city center and walking distance to some of the historic places of Tbilisi..Sorrounding the area are restaurants and convenient stores where you can easily buy food or groceries…Carrefour is walking distance too…The neighborhood looks historical itself with old.buildings preserved to its original structures . We highly recommend the place to everyone who are planning to travel to Tbilisi for business or leisure, especially for those travelling with family or group of friends…Vital, the house manager is also very nice, very polite, and always a call away should we need assistance..

What could be improved: Nothing actually..Everything is perfect ..

Ann from Russia – May 30, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved:

– Anton from Armenia – April 25, 2025 (10/10)

  • Exceptional – Alyona from Russia – April 1, 2025 (10/10)
